Thanks for compliments! Ok, good info, hope they are coming to the west also by time :) something needs to challenge the established big systems. Some manufacturers use customized Bafang drives also, could be an option. I'm happy for now and about two years ahead :) let's see what happens then...

ok, that might be something to think of. But since it is 5 cells in parallell wouldn't they balance each other? But I guess that could work bad when pack is old. Best would be a Smart BMS of some kind, a colleague has one with BT connectivity so he can monitor/program by his cell phone :)

Not sure I understand what you mean. The BMS is powered by the main battery pack power and not single cells. The balance wires each comes from one of the serial branches.

Great! I am building a similar myself. One thing I noticed half way through the build. IF we need to service the rear triangle bearings we need to remove the motor :( but otherwise I think it's a very nice concept!
