Does the motor provide any discernible assistance? 180 watts doesn't sound like a lot. Humour me, for I am a landlubber lol

Forum peeps might disagree with me, but I think electric bikes need more specialist sales assistants and mechanics, than Halfords usually has. You might get the odd electric bike enthusiast, who just happens to work for them, but I doubt anyone gets specially trained up.

There are other settings that affect the way the motor operates, such as the 'Keep Current' setting. If set too low, then the motor isn't fed enough current to sustain a higher speed. As Nealh says, post some screen shots of your settings when you get the cable, and we can all help to see if...

Yeah, I think you are spot on with the voltage sag issue of older cells. The voltage just seems to take longer to recover after a bout of heavy current draw. They were only examples above, but the actual pack is one and a half years old with around 200 cycles. A Samsung 30Q pack is in the...

Thanks for the replies guys. So in your opinions, would you just keep drawing the same amps from the pack, regardless of age, until it pretty much dies. Or would you lower the controller's max current draw, say every year, to compensate?
