Cyclamatic: The Beastamatic is dead! Long live the Beastamatic

If you are using a booster battery to achieve extra range out of the bike, then I think you will be disappointed. Every extra electronic device you put in the way of getting juice to the controller will sap power. Buck regulators are good at what they do, but will sap that juice. Possibly even...

Surprising how quick these Brexit price rises have happened

OMG, I think I met that kid whilst serving in Germany  The "eat my melted s**t" part did make me giggle... a lot :D

    How deep is too deep?

If you end up changing your route just to avoid the larger puddles, then you're gonna be missing out on a whole load of fun. I've known owners pressure wash Haibikes with no ill effects, so ride.. ride like the wind and enjoy ;) Just be sure to dry off the bike after a ride and apply chain...

My latest and most difficult conversion Trek Top Fuel 9.9 Carbon.

Jesus, that's nasty  When I installed my BBS02, I tried to get an idea of how much force the drive would have to overcome in different gears, by riding the bike without motor power. Using the 11T from a standstill was a no no, as I literally had to stand on the pedals to get going. Same...

I don't quite agree with your statement that a mid drive is worse. A geared hub motor is always stuck in the same gear, which means the motor/internal gears are fighting that load every time you move from a standstill. Open the throttle full on a regular basis, and you can see why...

    Brexit impact on our hobbies

Wouldn't worry a great deal about it, just do a little overtime to compensate ;) Electric bikes have never been a cheap hobby anyway, never was, never will be.... Damn you Bafang :p

Rare stamps have slightly increased in price, but I haven't seen any change in the cost of Hornby model trains.

My latest and most difficult conversion Trek Top Fuel 9.9 Carbon.

I think a majority of the problems come from owners not knowing how to ride a crank drive bike. They expect a twist and go, just like a hub. Unfortunately, crank drives are unforgiving if not used through the gears correctly, and in turn this puts undue stress on the internals and controller...

In Bafang's defense, I have mates who have purchased BMWs and Mercs and have had no end of niggly little problems with them. Like a lot of purchases in life, you can end up buying a lemon... Unfortunately cwah, you bought two :p:p

Apart from desperately needed a torque sensor instead of cadence, the BBSxx series are actually pretty top class in my eyes. Bafang are listening to their customers and improving the units all the time :)

    whats this part called

I once had a problem with a fuse and fuse holder. The fuse kept blowing, even using a fuse that was well over the rating I needed. Turned out that the contacts in the fuse holder weren't gripping the fuse tightly enough. The resulting electrical resistance was enough to heat the fuse up to the...

    new tyres

Just to add to Rob's comment about them being harsh. They are very sturdy tyres, so you can safely run them at the lower end of the pressure scale for more comfort. I have mine at 35psi for grip and comfort. On an electric bike, rolling resistance isn't an issue.

    Ladies e bike for 4ft 11" lady

Both the Juicy and the A2B appear to have quite thick saddles. If you are only talking an inch or two too short, then a lower profile saddle on one of those bikes might solve the problem.
