    whats this part called

I'll be honest and say that it's probably unlikely that you will find a replacement part. I've done a bit of digging around the net and couldn't come up with anything. Owning an electric bike is about adapting and overcoming though, so this is what I would do: Spray the plastic assembly with a...

    Cyclamatic powerplus battery problems...anyone else?

I love how the Beastamatic still pops up after all these years :p

    whats this part called

If those prongs are spring loaded on the battery, then a drop of WD40, where they slide inside the casing, may allow them to contact better. Work them in and out a few times to free up any stiffness. The docking part contacts look like they could do with a clean too. Contact cleaner and a...

    Cyclamatic powerplus battery problems...anyone else?

One issue I did encounter, is the contacts of the battery not engaging with the prongs of the docking platform properly. This was due to oxidation and slight opening up of the contacts through vibration and movement of the assembly. Well worth cleaning the prongs and battery contacts with...

    Cyclamatic powerplus battery problems...anyone else?

When I owned a Cyclamatic, I had to open up the battery to sort out a few issues. To be honest, I don't remember the cells to be anything special i.e Samsung or Panasonic, so likely to be cheap generic ones. They're not particularly well put together either, and the battery block can shake...

    Why Derailleurs gears?

It's exposed to the elements - totally true, although a rag and small brush quickly solves this problem. After a ride of course  is always a pain to adjust - not quite! If you spend a little time to adjust the mechanism properly first time, then you shouldn't need to touch it again. I've...

OMG, and I thought someone had just slapped a lawn mower engine on a push bike. There are actual kits out there  motorised bicycle's built for you!

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

That exact same thing happened to me about a year ago. Never crossed my mind to suggest it

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Unfortunately, it does sound like the controller has blown. Same thing happened to me on my BBS02, but that was due to Bafang fitting crap MOSFETs on their original design controller. Now they fit upgraded ones that can dissipate the heat better, among other things. Not sure if they did the...

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Is there any life with the rear wheel off the ground?

Interesting BBSxx info, straight from the horse's mouth.

Most of this has been discussed at one time or another on this forum, but it's nice to have it all condensed and from a reliable source too. http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=7

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Don't quote me, but I think it bulk reads and writes all three programming sections together, instead of individual pages. That's why I thought you may have accidently write flashed 10's in the Pedal Assist and Throttle Handle sections.

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

I'd reconnect back to the laptop/PC and individually write all the individual parameters that worked before, or Bafang's factory settings. Do this for each section, Basic, Pedal Assist and Throttle Handle.

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Is the LCD showing as normal? I can only think that you might not have aligned the arrows on the display connector, when connecting the display back to controller. Edit: One other thing I can think of, is that you forgot to read your controller info first. You've opened up the controller...

    Please help!

That's probably just the grease that the factory put on to lubricate the lock. Was it a sunny day, coz the glint from the sun as the gear mechanism moves across the cogs, could be mistaken for sparks.

My latest and most difficult conversion Trek Top Fuel 9.9 Carbon.

That can only be a good thing Dave. I programmed my BBS02 for 100% Start Current and it lost traction too readily in the lower gears. Now back to 50% for a nice compromise on acceleration, traction and drivetrain longevity.
