Advice on correct bike size (Cube reaction pro)

Well, like egroover said, just get a longer seatpost. Better to have a frame a bit too small than a bit too big, and like Az said you have plenty of room for a suspension seatpost. I could get away with an XL frame but then I probably couldn't fit my NCX seatpost. Also, your bike frame has a...

Advice on correct bike size (Cube reaction pro)

I have to agree. I am 6' 1", my bike is a large frame 20", I had a go on a 17" frame bike and simply raised the seat post and it was fine.

What do you think of my new bike?

Woosh said I didn't need brake cut-outs if I chose to not have a throttle. One assumes they know what they are talking about.

What do you think of my new bike?

OK, good points but I am lucky in that I don't really struggle with hill starts etc. I realise that is not the case for everyone due to medical conditions etc. You said no downsides at all, but 1.One needs brake sensors if one has a throttle, so more to go wrong, also I like to keep my bike as...

What do you think of my new bike?

Yep, me too. I ride my ebike like I ride a normal bike, change down as I approach a junction so I'm ready for a quick pull away. PAS kicks in almost immediately anyway. I find all this chat about people needing throttles a bit puzzling. I ordered my conversion kit without a throttle, then out...

Countryside riders targeted by bike thieves amid record lows in police detection rates

And yet another stabbing and e-bike robbery in Swindon. This was early evening (i.e. it was dark) in one of the less salubrious areas of town. Luckily the victim was discharged from hospital fairly quickly. God knows what these ratboys do with these e-bikes with no chargers. I like to think...

What do you think of my new bike?

I like the bike, I'm not sure who the target audience is but IMHO, the handlebars are too low and too flat. Surely this bike is more urban/commute/utility than mountain? So a bit of comfort would be nice. Just my personal thoughts, good luck.

    Just done my first conversation

That is not my bike, so I don't know the answer to your first question. People have hung batteries from the front of the downtube but I would guess it's far from optimal. Depends what you are going to use the bike for, bimbling along towpaths, probably OK. Downhill racing, probably not.

    Wisper 705 brake bleed adapter

I learn something new every day on this forum. I remember years ago, me and my mate fitted a complete new front brake on his Suzuki GSX600 . All the components were dry and needed filling with hydraulic fluid. We naturally assumed we'd just have to fill the reservoir, open the bleed screw on...

    Wisper 705 brake bleed adapter

Good to know, thanks. So I guess the only time one would need a bleed kit would be if you wanted to replace all the fluid or build a brake from scratch from separate components. Apologies for the thread hijack OP.

    Wisper 705 brake bleed adapter

Please forgive my thickness but where does the air come out then, when you pump the lever? Do you open the bleed screw on the caliper? Or does it rise to the surface inside the reservoir?

Where does the air come out? Do you take the lid off the master cylinder reservoir?

14 Yr Old - Carrera Vengeance Mountain Bike

You don't say if you intend to electrify the bike. You don't say what the bike will be used for. But, if you wanted to spend £18 more the Carrera Vulcan comes with 120mm front forks (as opposed to 100mm) Halfords don't specify but the Vulcan looks to have 180mm rotors (as opposed to 160mm). The...

    MiRider Bikes

I think if I was looking for a folder, I would get the Wisper 806, not only would I get bigger 20" wheels but I'd get to keep a thousand pounds in my sky rocket and I wouldn't go on a waiting list (I assume). However, I would need to fit hydraulic brakes (or at least the front one). But I would...

    MiRider Bikes

Very nice gearbox mind, "completely unique" according to Martin. I don't think the horizontal drop-outs would bother me much, with a belt drive surely it's just set and forget? I don't know much about wheel removal with those drop-outs though. Fair comment about the motor cable, surely it...

XF08 in narrow dropouts - advice needed

I have one of those torque arms waiting to be fitted but I am away at the moment so it will have to wait. I can forsee similar problems, mostly because the axle is a bit short on the brake side. I can see a lot of jiggery-pokery with washers etc. The torque arm seller had 3mm thick 12x10 torque...

    Kill the PAS

Yes, that's one solution but I wouldn't mind making one of those kill switches spliced to a brake cut-off wire. Of course I don't have any brake cut-off wires or even brake cut-offs, but that can be done. It's really for negotiating this sort of thing, first time I tried it, I left the PAS in...
