Help! Which to buy? (interested in Wisper Tailwind)

That site is crazy, they seem to have in stock every single ebike that has ever existed, and there is no search facility.

    Trackers

Hijacking ebikers and taking the bikes by armed yobs is a growth industry in my town. What are these trackers and where can I get one? Where would you fit one? Under the saddle seems too obvious, inside a frame tube sounds better...

New Frame - what Headset do i need??

Also, that wheel you pictured looks to be 700c, is it? If so, I assume your new frame is for 700c wheels?

New Frame - what Headset do i need??

OK well you will need a headset bearing cup press tool to instal the bearing cups from your new headset into the frame, 10 quid on eBay. As you're using forks from another bike they will need to have a straight steerer tube (not tapered) I think that's what you have, you will need to check...

New Frame - what Headset do i need??

Will you be fitting the headset yourself? Do you have the forks you intend to fit and are the forks new or used?

    Just Bought This......

Yes it is a fairly easy task. First you have to determine if you have a freewheel or cassette, but very likely you have a freewheel (usually 7 gears or less): This video shows freewheel removal: [youtube]

Help! What COMPLETELY LEGAL Ebike will get me up hills?

Mate, I only mentioned my mechanical brakes because the OP is considering converting a nice old Raleigh that has rim brakes and his frame has no provision for disk brakes. Mechanicals/rim brakes are certainly not ideal on an electric bike but if one rides at legal speeds and one is careful not...

Help! What COMPLETELY LEGAL Ebike will get me up hills?

I also have a Woosh XF08C kit fitted to my 20 year old mountain bike (aluminium though). The kit has been trouble free and never fails to get me up hills. Mine has the downtube battery. My brakes are mechanical disk brakes which have similar performance to rim brakes. Just don't go too fast...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

Thanks very much for your input. Going by your (and others) advice, I think I will up those tyre pressures a little. And yes, you and saneagle are absolutely right, hydraulic brakes will have to be next on my 'to do' list. Very strange how ROW goes for the front brake on the left, I could...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

I hear you Jaxter, I am in my sixties and I hate to say it but I think if I was to buy a ready-made e-bike now it would be either a Woosh Santana or a Wisper 705. I never thought I'd consider a step-thru (with possibly a shopping basket up front LOL) but I spent a fair bit trying to convert a...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

Sorry Jaxter, I missed this question. It says on my tyres, "Inflate to 40-60 PSI". But I run mine at 25-30 PSI for a bit more comfort, without adverse effects. If your tyres recommend 60-100 PSI and yours are as low as 15-22 then that could well explain your mishap. 60-100 PSI sounds more...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

So, fitted a longer front brake cable (a bit too long really tbh, overcompensated LOL) Been out for a ride this afternoon, loving it. The front end looks stupidly high, but when I'm on the bike it really works, very comfortable. The Woosh motor gives 15.5mph but with a bit of vigorous...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

Mate, these handlebars have totally transformed the seating position and comfort, it's like night and day. A lot of your weight is transferred off your hands and wrists and more onto your backside, hence the comfort seat. Totally non-trendy in the mountain bike world but I love it for pottering...

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

Yes mate, I have come to the same conclusion. Mechanicals are OK but no better performance than V-brakes really and they need constant fiddling and adjustment. I need to make that upgrade one day, I'm just gonna need extra long hoses to fit my high front end on the bike. Onwards!

How I converted my bike to a trekking/comfort bike

So, this is the second summer with my Woosh conversion and it has been faultless. I did take the precaution of not leaving the bike out in my cold, damp, miserable shed over the winter. So anyway, I've not been too happy about the uncomfortable riding position on my old mountain bike. Too much...
