How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

Afaik No diy e-bikes in the UK are 'legal' in the strictest sense simply as the regs make no room for a diy ebike, and only regulate off the shelf products. However to prosecute someone a BIG Deal Landmarking case will need to be made and tested in the courts. - So far no one seems keen on...

    Spoke key

Im gonna guess the 2nd tool is perhaps for measuring automotive/motorcycle spokes as google tells me bike spokes are generally smaller... edit-- or its just an odd tool and the numbers are the nipple square/nut dimensions????

    Spoke key

Yose site lists the current spoke size employed in the 350w rear wheel as 13Gauge, I would have bet your last fiver it would have been 14G , and had typed as much but thought i should check ;)

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

I revisited cycling circa 2020. However living uphill/upslope from most destinations, going out was/is fine but even the longer gentler sloped routes home from the city would leave me exhausted, and shopping etc would get left on the bike while i took a wee rest even after more local trips...

    Climate change

Im wondering if we should rethink the whole 1776 business in the light of recent events.. They had a stab at a version of democracy and seem to have decided against it and appear to now want a king again?? and some sort of presence back in europe for some reason. Well we have king and he is...

    Wierd Pedal Assist Problem

Google has failed me for a quick link to an illustrative pic or 2 but all the Julet waterproof style plug/socket connections have a raised indicating line iirc under the arrow indicating position on the male plug aspect showing how far down the lip of the socket needs to be pushed to fully...

Cheap commuter bike, thoughts and concerns

Not an obstacle i regularly encounter hence the ignorant comment above DOH!.. Perhaps trying just lifting the lighter front end up the first few steps and engaging the walk mode drive to bring up the rear as you lift the front one step at a time?? - its what i would try i think... Finally a...

    Electric tricycle

Would you require throttle speed control, with one leg I doubt you could rely on pedal assist alone? A Trike or a conversion kit sourced from a uk supplier conformant with the eu/uk regs will probably not have its throttle feature enabled beyond starting the 4mph walk mode. Lots of fixes for...

What bike would you buy for commute

What distance/range do you need and how much mass will the bike carry, this will dictate which battery, or batteries may be most suitable. Both Woosh and Whisper are UK based and sell quality bikes with backup. (based on comments and contributions in here, not direct experience unfortunately)...

    Torque Arms.

Grin will ship to the UK but North americans are honest to a fault on customs declarations, so ordering a few with the intention of ebay sharing the spares could backfire with vat charges etc. Any Canadian family/palls to act as a go-between ? You could ask em to declare nominal $1 steel machine...

500 watt MOTORS A NO GO

Who needs 500w rated motors anyway? wont a bigger motor just drink more juice to run in the first place, hence less range or bigger batteries ;(
