New old boy with a question regarding Quick Release wheel

fwiw im still pleased with my as is stock yose power rear wheel installation ;) The pas level speed control took a bit of getting used to. The motor will simply accelerate at full pelt until the speed cap for the pas level selected is reached. But once initial confusion (in my case) has...

    Where Do You Live V2.0

I disagree, the good ol days were when i was 'the insurance man' and had a pad of cover notes in my case propped up against my barstool, during an extended liquid lunch.. While legitimately at work.

    Whisper 905se speed limit

There are a number of solutions that could apply, it all depends on which control system motor and perhaps even battery are involved. If for example your modded bike attempts to draw more amps from your battery than it can provide at best the bms will shut the battery down for 5 mins or so, we...

    Fitting A Tracking Device

The meshtastic lora-wan system is established enough (round here at least) such that an embedded with battery tracker inc all bells n whistles costs circa £40 and a 'base station' required to connect to your phone and the meshtastic app (Shudder!) which could cost a tenner or less but a £20 v3...

    Bird bike Battery problems

Not an expert, but there are numerous battery repair vids on youtube, at least one i have seen has noted a bms powered by a single or only a few of the cell groups which when left on the shelf will disproportionately drain those selected cells having the knock on effect of an unbalanced pack...

167cm girl looking for an ebike!

generally its best to avoid batteries built into the bike as it usually involves a unique form factor limiting spare/replacement battery options to the single oem source, some take advantage of this to charge a premium price way above the price of a generic pack using top quality cells etc...

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

Im doubting my recollections now.. I rode away unimpressed with the bike as it looked heavy, the bulky crank obscured by the shell could have been a locking mechanism?? the thing that stood out was the rear over the wheel mudguard and moulded in luggage rack/capacity as a simple but effective...

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

My bad on the pic, the motor was obscured by the body shell, and i wasnt crawling under it or lifting a hire bike on its back outside the chemists,, I can snap pics of the next one that crosses my path now i know there is interest, we get loads more scooters due to local halls of residence...

    What soldering iron ?

Ive got a 5v 8w usb iron too ;) works ok on small things with minimal heatsinking capacity. but a ts100/80 or clone is a big boy version of the same format, and can dump 60w+ from a suitable dc psu (usbc). google suggests they are very cheap compared to the £60 i paid for a 3 tip bundle...

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

It was a mid drive bike, I peered at both hubs, but the aspect that caught my eye was the composite? body shell over the rear wheel.

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

thats odd I spotted a lime bike in the wild last week when i found it parked up next to mine, took a quick once over and its rear mud guard shell/body must have grabbed my attention as if fitted with 2x hub motors i missed that completely?? And i think i would have spotted something of that...

    Spoke rub

    Swytch juddering

Yikes while hub motors are afaik pretty bullet proof only cooking the occasional hall sensor when over burdened. - an upside down mounting letting water in to the motor over a long period can be trouble.. Just to clarify, the up and down on a hub motor is designated by the cable notch in the...

Yose Power Hub- need a new rim!

fwiw spoke sets i bought via amazon were £12-14 per 36x set. might not be the best racing spokes, but they worked and when i got the size wrong were easy to send back, Not suggesting you dont attempt to size your spokes correctly first time.. but if you screw that up its not the end of the...

Home Ruination by Ebike Battery Fire Expulserating PreTerminator™®©℠

I suspect your 12v horn and the buzzers linked to will be designed for a short duty cycle and continues use may just fry them if just switched on and powered by the stc1000's relays or even if your bleeding off the 12v switching power to the relay coil. Look at home alarm solutions perhaps...

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

Hope your right @saneagle, but ive had enough legal exposure to remain wary. My caution stems from the undefinable concept of a manufacturer of a converted eapc.. And without a manufacturer no labelling criteria can possibly be met. Hence the careful use of the 'Strictly' prefix above.
