    E-MTB required for Saturday 17th May 2014

As some of you will know, I have been actively taking part in the 2014 Wiggle/UK Cycling Events MTB series, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm currently without a battery for the NEO Xtrem, and it may well not be back to me in time for the next event on Saturday 17th May 2014...

Wiggle Ups and Downs April 26th 2014

Not long to go until the next Wiggle ride, and with spaces still available, there is still time for other e-mtb owners to get off their backsides and enter. ;) http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wiggle-super-series-wiggle-ups-downs-mtb-std-2014/

The Neo Xtrem has reached it's limit

Or rather the limits of what I'm going to do it, although a pair of DMR flats are on the cards at some stage, as is a re paint to get rid of all BH logos and graphics. A 12ah battery would also be nice, but I certainly won't be buying one of those. The full list of mods is as follows. Deore...

    E-bikes and Eurotunnel

Possibly a dumb question. Are there any restrictions about transporting electric bikes via Eurotunnel? As in the bike being attached to a carrier on the back of a car. Unless I have somehow missed it, I can't find any info relating to this.

12ah battery over 9ah battery for the NEO

This more of an idol thought than anything else, but todays MTB event had me wondering what kind of extra range that I might have been able to expect, from using the 12ah battery, over my 9ah battery. After riding approx. the last 5 miles with the battery gauge showing zero and blinking...

    Wiggle Rough Ride

Not long to go, and the weather looks promisng. :) I've booked onto the 28mile 'standard' route. For some reason depending upon where you look, the route is stated at 25miles, 27miles, and 28miles...

I don't normally like flat pack, but....

On this occasion I am making an exception. The cock up with the invoice over the off road Haibike, then a thread by KTM over the launch of a new bike, made me halt in my tracks and have a rethink of what I actually wanted a bike for. Since making the changes to the BH, it has now become a very...

    Giant and Yamaha

A few nights ago I was reading about Yamaha's mid drive motor, and being a Yamaha race bike fan, I was keen to know a bit more about it, then tonight spotted the video below, but can't see any mention of the bike listed on Giants E-Bike range. Did it not make it to production, or have I somehow...

    tmm4 torque sensor

Give me a 2t race bike or any other motorbike and I can strip down to every single nut and bolt and rebuild it without giving it a second thought, but for some reason I get nervous when it comes to tinkering with BH. This in part is probably down to my lack of understanding of them. Anyway I...

    Possible Haibike purchase.

Over the last few weeks I've been bouncing ideas, changing my mind, then changing it again, then yesterday decided to be cheeky and send an email to German company for a long shot best price on a 2014 HAIBIKE XDURO FS RS 27.5“ delivered here to the UK. I almost fell on the floor when I saw the...

    Wear and tear

After last weeks ride, I noticed that there was significant movement in the rear cassette of the Neo Xtrem and thought that I'd get it checked over whilst the new forks were being replaced today. As I kind of already knew, the cassette turned out to be worth nothing more than scrap value. Sadly...

Brilliant inner tube idea for hub drives

The following inner tube isn't specifically designed for hub drive inner tube replacement, but it's certainly worthy of note. Just a shame that there doesn't seem to be other sizes. :(...

    Chain rings and crank drives

Something struck me yesterday whilst out riding off road. In the 5 months or so of owning the Xtrem, yesterday was the first time that I have used the granny ring. This in turn made me think about crank drive motors, and the fact that in the case of something like the Haibike below, the...

    Broken control console bracket

Broken control console bracket. Obviously I'm going to speak to the dealer about ordering up a replacement item, but my question is... To save future expense and what will inevitably be a long wait should it break again, is there a generic replacement item? The main plug contains 5 pins and...

    Hit the 1000km mark today

As posted here http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/uk-off-road-s-pedelecs-overseas/15780-how-many-people-using-there-e-bike-off-road-10.html#post201675 I hit the 1000km on the BH today. I realise that to many that distance may not seem that great, but to me it's an achievement. Up until July of...

    Spoke resonance

Provided that the spokes in a wheel are correctly tensioned, is it common to have a chinging (is that a word) resonance noise when traveling at speed. The rear wheel on my NEO Xtrem seems suffer with this when the speed hits exactly 45kph and above. In the daytime I hear it and just find it an...

Show me a stylish alternative to the BH NEO Race.

After recently having a ride of a BH Neo Race, and loving every second of it, show me a stylish alternative to it. Two main points. It must have rigid front forks, as I hate suspension forks on a road biased bike, and I'd also like to see 700C wheels. The NEO Race.

    SPAM Winter Challenge

Sorry I hadn't realised that I put the thread in the wrong section. I've signed my self on to the 50km SPAM Winter challenge MTB ride, and was wondering if anyone else fancied doing it. Do you own any other electric vehicles/equipment

As well as the bike I have these two pieces of kit which get used as part of my job. The golf buggy gets used as a wheel barrow on jobs, and the forklift just makes my life easier in the work shop. Does anyone else have any battery operated machinery/vehicles.
