Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

First impressions are I love the way the re-rimmed 700 rear wheel matches the original front. I’m particularly happy that the rear hub motor with single cross spoke pattern matches the original front with 3 cross pattern :) I’m still deciding about the power, more trips needed...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

Just a quick update as I’ve finally managed to get a 700C rim & spokes from the UK. The tyres still need sorting but it now has a pair of matched 29er wheels :):)

Rear hub and rear rack mounted battery, too much in the tail?

There are a few discusions about speed / current controllers if you use Search at the top of the page, eg https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/lishui-controller-and-lcd-vs-kt-controller-and-lcd.36444/ Both types work and I was happy with the Yose kit for about a year on my first E-bike...

Rear hub and rear rack mounted battery, too much in the tail?

I was using a Yose 350w kit last year with the downtube battery mounted on the rear rack - I found it fine, stable, the power is useful but there won't be any wild uncontrollable wheelies. I tried another bike with a pannier rack battery and found it handled terrible, the difference was that...

Putting this here rather than start another scooter thread https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-57874409 A 16 year old boy was killed in a hit and run crash. The car drove off, driver was later arrested and found to be over the drink/drive limit Police are trying to find the scooter...

    Large volume road tyres

I have 2 sets of their 700x38 slicks in the post, not quite as wide as I'd like but I have similar size on already and they're fine for on my usual B-road / gravel track routes. They have limited colours in 700C/29'er https://curiouk.com/collections/700c-road-tyres I don't have any 27.5 bikes...

Yosepower 350w kit? Or alternatives (cheap)

Hi Ste, I fitted a 350W Yose kit last year (my first kit) and like it a lot. My main dislike was the operation, very "full acceleration then a sharp cutoff when it hits the speed limit" which is typical of "Speed-controlled" systems. I've now swapped the controller & display for...

    Large volume road tyres

I've been very happy with Curio tyres for gravel tracks & B-roads, no punctures since I fitted them 12 month / 1500Kms ago. Noticably harder than the supersoft knobblies they replaced but the large volume gives a comfortable ride. Bonus is they're super cheap and come in a mix of sizes and fun...

Help! Shipping an Ebike/ Taking it on holiday (2) - Pile in

Beware of shipping anything from UK to Europe . Since Brexit this is classed as "Importing in EU" and needs all kinds of paperwork, I'm in Southern Europe and had a parcel of personal goods - not commercial - sent from UK on June 18, it arrived at my national depot a week later and is still...

    DIY Hubless MTB conversion

Not electric but I'd love the chance to get something similar and add a kit to it  The build looks very DIY'able, the reults are amazing from some simple engineering work.

    Tapered vs straight steerer?

@AlejoBike - once you know which type of forks will fit your bike, I got some last year from seller "Bankrupt Bike Store" (they're on Ebay & Amazon), basic but very good and very cheap. I like them a lot...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

@PC2017 thanks for the compliments - it's only the 2nd bike I've ever bought new (the other was before I was a teenager !). I paid £££ lots - slightly reduced as previous years model - and don't regret it at all :) It's so nice having good air forks, hydro disk brakes, and the drive line is...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

I’ve been waiting for a parcel of bits for this bike, a mate in the uk kindly took delivery from a few different places, and put it all into 1 box then sent it to me in Portugal more than a month ago. It’s stuck in customs with no sign of moving so I’ve resorted to fitting a temporary luggage...

Trial E-scooters in London - additional conditions

The Met Police have concerns and have described E-Scooters as“Death traps”, it will be intersting to see how they implement the law in the new trial zones. (terrible accent but decent content) https://www.gbnews.uk/gb-views/dan-wootton-e-scooters-disaster-waiting-to-happen/107734 Ebike &...

    Julet connector and wiring bundle

Hi, I have seen a (home-made) wiring diagram on this forum a few months ago, have just looked but can't find it for you. Beware if buying a replacement harness, there are at least 2 different types ( 9 pin connectors for kits with lights fitted, 8 pin for those with no lights?), anything you buy...

    Ebike yose power failure

Hi, It sounds like your Yose kit is similar to mine (everything is built-in so is difficult to test with a multimeter). Does your battery have a push-button to check voltage, with a row of LEDs to show the charge? Maybe try that before and after it cuts out. The gauge is very basic but is...

    Another accident in the news

Very true. I've been working in Southern Europe for more than a year, E-mopeds and (like photo above) E-kids-scooters are very popular - mainly for shorter trips near towns. The big differences are: very little traffic here compared to UK, a very polite nation who work *with* other road users...

    Another accident in the news

Madness ! I've weighed 13-15 stone since I was a teenager, riding a 50cc moped limited to 30mph when new (low 20s when they've had a few years use and have a big lad on them) always felt dangerous. Plenty of cars in built up areas are doing 35mph. It doesn't sound a lot but the 10mph...
