Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

I can mirror those words exactly, the only difference being the choice of bike brand and motor. On some occasions both here in the UK and in Switzerland, it has taken several attempts to pull away whilst using assist.

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

From experience, your written statement could not be further from the truth. Firstly if the dealer is Bosch approved, then they would have done all that they could to diagnose and fix the issue, and failing that there is UK support to fall back upon. If in the event that a motor/battery does...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

Zero cadence would be fine, if the power kicked in from a progressive crawl and increased over say a couple of pedal strokes. In an ideal world all eMTB's would do this, and I have no idea why this isn't a built in design feature. Like you, I'd find zero cadence to be a complete pain and work...

    Help. Bike Stolen

Sorry to hear that Phill. :( The worrying thing is, that they might well return again when you have replaced the bike. :( It sounds like an opportunist theft, but out of interest did you have your Strava settings set to home exclusion? Joking with the following.. If you stay up late...

To go tubeless or not to go tubeless.

£5.99 for a Weldtite tubeless repair kit as shown in the very first post, and a pump/C02 canister would have seen the tyre repaired seconds. It is even listed in last months Singletrack magazine as highly recommended and must have in your carry kit...

My Bike is the Most Efficient

Exactly. My average ride stats for riding off road work something like this. I almost flattened the first 500wh battery on the Bosch CX powered bike in just 9 miles during the following ride, and I hadn't realised just how hot that a battery could get. Changing battery to complete the last 1.4...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

So where is your proof and evidence to back up yet another unsubstantiated claim? In respect of your hub. That could easily just be put down to a very poor maintenance regime. .

    But you aren't doing that!

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

This thread sprang to mind a few nights ago, as a fair bit of my local riding is through non existence tracks, which I just make up as I go along . I was making a track roughly 200 metres long through a very tall section of bracken, and the back wheel locked solid a good hand full or so times...

Events: 15th NEC Cycle Show Birmingham: 23rd-25th September 2016

I can see the logic and business sense behind a bike manufacturer that offers both normal pedal cycles and EAPC being at a show such as the NEC, but not for a company that just sells ebikes. Having never been as I hate crowded places, I'd imagine that the majority of people that attend shows...

It would need to be with that saddle angle. :D .

How to slime a Presta valve tyre?

Sadly very true, and thought just the same yesterday as I rode a narrow bridleway that had just had it's black thorn hedges cut. Prior to going tubeless, I had suffered two punctures the same time of year, on the same bridleway. Perhaps just see how things work out.

How to slime a Presta valve tyre?

I wouldn't worry until you start having punctures. It seems pointless to change unless you need to. Obviously changing has advantages, but I can't really think that you currently need to worry. If you do decide to change, and your wheel set is tubeless compatible, just make sure that you buy...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

Afraid that I know nothing about the brand, or even where I got the photo from. I suspect that it was probably from Instagram, as a photo of the hardtail has been stored on my phone for ages, and I can't think where else that I would have spotted it. I really can't get excited about the full...

Look at this absolute beast...12kW ebike!!!!!

Not my sort of thing at all, but it certainly puts other home builds to shame by not having ugly battery bags and a mess of wires and cabling. At least it is all contained and hidden. I'm always puzzled why battery bags and a dogs dinner of wiring seems to be the accepted norm of pedelec...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I even found time for a sausage roll and coffee stop, followed later by a Caribbean spicy Pasty and coffee stop. :) It was an extremely chilled and relaxed 30 mile ride today, but only 18 miles of it recorded. My new 'genuine' battery for my phone is seemingly crap...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Funny that you should say that, as the very same thought had gone through my mind as well. I'm going to have a play on the pedal hardtail first, then go onto the hardtail eMTB. The full suspension bike is too lardy by comparison. :) More photos to follow, but what a brilliant day it was today...
