45 Mile Commute, possible on a eBike?

Danidl, as has already been mentioned after my post, you can't read too much into what I have written. I'd guess that 90% of my riding time is spent off road, and when wet, the conditions local to me, make for a highly abrasive grinding paste that is harsh on all components. Even when the...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

It seems to be listed on FLI's website. http://www.flidistribution.co.uk/2015-ktm-life-lontano-p118-2086878 But I did struggle to find out much about it. I read a few blog posts, and reviews, but beyond that it seems to have slipped into the background. I'd certainly love to ride and try one...

45 Mile Commute, possible on a eBike?

I'm afraid that I don't agree with that. From my experience of running two Bosch powered bikes, one with a CX and one that up until a recent upgrade ran a Performance Line motor. The Performance line gave greater range using a 500wh battery than the CX gave using a 500wh battery. In my opinion...

45 Mile Commute, possible on a eBike?

As we ride similar terrain, that makes quite an interesting comparison. Four miles more for the same time. This would have used approx 55%-60% of my battery capacity, and would have been ridden using tour.

    The new best headlight

For the most part I wouldn't be able to wear a headlamp light. Riding the local terrain I spend a fair bit of the time ducking under tree branches, and probably take a slight helmet knock at least once on every ride. The CamelBak is a bigger inconvenience to that one though, and I have been...

    The new best headlight

Good to hear that Chris, as I was looking forward to your opinion. If anyone was going to be critical of this light then it was always going to be you and me, what with you running a Hope4 and me running a Fenix BT20. Neither of us were though. :) I've now given my Ebay light to my riding...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

It is a KTM Life Lontano P18. Sadly it comes with an Ouch price tag. http://www.damianharriscycles.co.uk/prod/hyb_0042_kt/ktm-life-lontano-p18-2016-hybrid-bike I'm in the throws of possibly making plans to cycle from London to Bern, then on to Lauterbrunnen next year as part of a record...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

I spotted yesterday that KTM make a bike that uses a pinion gearbox. Our Testrider Niko was riding 21500 km for 17 months through Iran, Australia, Kirgistan, Turkey, Thailand,…

    Oxydrive ride recorded on Strava.

Where you dived off the road marked by the green arrow, is one of the entrances that I use for my twice weekly off road commute to work. The area enclosed in black is a woodland that subject to a site meeting, I have just been given sole rights to ride on. :) The area in yellow is one of my...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Or just a tosser! You have just become the first person to be added to the ignore list. I really cannot be bothered with your crap any more. .

    Bike theif Car spotters needed

Clicking 'like' somehow seems wrong, but hopefully you can be back out again on the new bike very soon, and put the whole episode very much behind you. I can only imagine just how crap that you must feel, along with the horrible feeling of expectation that it could happen again. I deleted a...

    Oxydrive ride recorded on Strava.

Certainly the perfect day for it. Very nice photos as well. :) No mention of the Green Man at Horsted Keynes! You must have been slaking!! :) Despite traveling past Nutley windmill many times a month, and living just a few miles away from it, I haven't actually been in to see it since visiting...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Yet another thing that you are wrong about. I have held KOMs using my peddle mtb, both on road and off road. All of which I have had to work hard to get, all of which I have taken time to study to work out where time can be gained or lost, all of which I have chosen particular weather to ride...

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

First bike... New motor one week. New battery three days. Second motor on a different bike again five days. Dropped off at shop on a Monday mid morning, new motor arrived from Germany and fitted on the Friday. So glad that I opted for a KTM. :)

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

SW only rides on roads, public footpaths and canal towpaths. You should know that by now. :) And yes SW you should be listing your rides as Ebike on Strava. People have had to work hard to gain the ride stats that they have, and there is no excuse for not doing so. Gaining a KOM using an ebike...
