    Look what the postman brought..

You are slipping. Some of these designs might suit you better. :) https://safishing.com/product-category/face-shield/?gclid=CMrXmrXp2s8CFTQo0wodKDIHHA I have quite a collection of neck warmers, Buffs etc. I hate having a cold neck. .

OK. So how do people with glasses and false teeth ride without mudguards

This is all that is required. I have a Neo Guard fitted to all three bikes, and have yet to have even the slightest bit of crud flick up into my face. It won't help you for when following others, but who wants to the one behind anyway.

Small day ride off road, may not be me riding :)

I never get bored of watching Danny ride. I kind of feel that he sold out to the man in the last few years, but who could blame him. He has come a long way. Still one of my favorite clips, and also one of my favorite bands playing the backing track, so that is a bonus. :)

    The new best folding bike

It's missing a wheel at the back, and a handle for the parent to hold on to.

Cube Reaction Hybrid HPA SL 500 (2017)

KTM are enjoying great success with that at both world level racing and at amateur level racing. Their eMTB's fitted with USD front forks don't look too shabby either. I'm even actually tempted to sell the Macina Lycan in favour of one. :) Not that I can find the limits of the existing bike...

Cube Reaction Hybrid HPA SL 500 (2017)

Why do you think that the motor will overheat? I'd have thought that the standard 16t front sprocket would also be okay for reasonably hilly areas, especially with the 11-46 cassette.

    The new best headlight

Phil, there is no "think" about it. :) Adding the yellow tint has transformed the whole use of the light for my use. The bright white colour and glare has gone, there is no apparent loss of light, and the beam is more than enough for riding conditions including technical slow terrain, to...

    SPOKES

My tried and tested preferred method is to simply give my wheel set to a friend on a regular basis and get him to check them using one of these. :) https://www.dtswiss.com/Resources/Support/PROLINE/DT-Swiss-Proline-Tensio-User-Manual-en Other than the very occasional truing after a hard knock...

    The new best headlight

Obviously the proof will be when I come to use the light on a ride tomorrow night, but just using a felt tip pen to tint appears to have made a massive difference when trying it out in our cellar a few moments ago. This one simple change could make a lot of difference to my use of the light...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

More of a pleasing purchase than anything else. I'm increasingly getting fun out of creating and altering trail sections, and often I just want to alter or change minor elements when out. With this in mind, and the with the sole intention of doing so, I figured that I required something that is...

    The new best headlight

I wear the safety spec version of those on a daily basis at work. I really like the way that they highlight and define shadow in low light conditions.

    The new best headlight

Well Dave it would seem that your recommendation of a "New best light" has just provided yet another sale. As said previously, I loaned my light to a friend who also tries to ride several evenings/nights a week during the winter months, and his exact words were when he returned it this morning...

    e-bikes for mountains

If distance and steepness of climb are of key importance, then personal fitness is always going to play a major roll in a bikes hill climbing ability, as is gearing. For the simple reason of ownership and keeping it short, taking the Bosch motor system for my example, both the Performance Line...

Well spotted Dave, thanks for pointing that out, and also frightening me with OE rotor cost. :D

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

It was a Specialized Turbo Levo. The finish and colour were both amazing, and it certainly had very good components. The clutter free handle bars are selling point on its own, but as said, the bike has too many negatives for me to ever want to entertain one.

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

On my drive back home, I ruled the hub out thinking that it was rim brake only. Looking at my photos a seeing disc mount holes changed things completely for me. :) I might start my offer as can of cheap lager and a packet of pork scratchings. :)

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

For some reason I am still really struggling to ride at the moment, but as I had to venture off to see the Rohloff hub, it seemed daft not venture up onto the South Downs at the same time. 35 miles and an elevation gain of 2,865ft. More than enough for me today. :( I also came across...

    Rohloff/gearbox question/s!

One of my friends has finally decided to let his bike go! :) The question is, what do I offer him for it? The frame is far too small to be of any use to me, but I do want to squirrel the hub away for future use on something. Given the quality of the bike it does seem a shame to strip it down...
