60 euro for a front sprocket! That's crazy money for something that would last me about 500 miles.

I've yet to have a spoke magnet come loose or move. I'd also prefer not to add anything to a valve stem. Sooner or later it'll catch and snap the stem.

Phill, if you intend to ride in heavy mud, or during the autumn when you get a mud and leaf mix, then you will find that it just clogs up and doesn't clear, resulting in the rear wheel locking up. It'll be fine if you just want to be a fair weather or canal tow path rider though.

Funny that you should say that, as the next bike is running 11 speed. The chain is an Sram PC x1 and a quick search comes up £17.99 as the cheapest. I'll either try to negotiate a deal on a bulk buy with my bike shop owning friend, or just do what I always do, and keep a close eye on what is on...
