CarSOS... not a problem if you've got an eBike

    That's a very fuzzy description. .

Failed on my first big hill

I very much doubt it. With brain matter fading as old age approaches, who on earth would remember that lot. Talk about being over complicated and unnecessary. Evidently the OP thought so as well, or there wouldn't have had an issue. .

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Stumpy, I just find the straightness and regularity of them so uninspiring. The South Downs way is pretty much the same as well. Stunning views, but so dull to ride. Get off the SDW and onto bridleways, and everything changes, and becomes far more interesting and fun. This looks promising! ;)

    Aldi

So from "experience", you have bought a product expecting it to fail? By anyone's standard, that is an odd thing to do! For an extra £10.00- £20.00 you could have bought a decent light that won't fail at the worst possible moment, and would be an altogether better light...

    Charging pattern

Life's too short and I'd sooner charge the battery back up after each ride, rather than have to cut my ride short because I didn't charge it back up. I'm with Paul20v. .

Buying the right bike for the right reasons

I think that you can already guess my opinion. ;) The very discreet Neo Guard will do the same job as the front mudguard shown, without compromising brake arch clearance. A muckynutz guard would also do the same job as the mud hugger, but would have the bonus of being cheaper, thinner and more...

Buying the right bike for the right reasons

The same price that E-bike Shop has been selling the old one, whilst everywhere else has long been selling them for about £200.00 ish

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I made the mistake of going on there one evening last week. Riding any old railway line route or canal towpath has to be the most boring thing ever. I can't deal with it more than once or twice a year. My ride today was brilliant. I'd never wanted to venture into Hornshurst before, as I know...

Buying the right bike for the right reasons

You might find that they are about to get much cheaper. Rockshox are about to launch a new version, and the current models are now starting to be reduced in price. I'm aiming to get a very discounted one for the next bike, but frustratingly can't do so until it arrives, and I can then work out...

2 bikes to choose from - feel free to post an alternative

Funny that you should say that Paul. I haven't ridden a 26" wheeled bike for a couple of years, but very much doubt that I could tell the difference either, and I certainly can't when jumping from a 27.5 onto a 29 I suspect that at our levels of riding, it just comes down to pub bull.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Sooner the better. :) I'm out on the pedal mtb tomorrow. My mate that owns the local mtb bike shop is starting a monthly ride out, and it would be rude of me not to turn up for it. I don't need much of an excuse to get out for a ride. :) .

£40.00 for a 4 cree light! You would have to be daft enough to pay that. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5200LM-4-CREE-XML-T6-Front-Head-LED-Bicycle-Lamp-Bike-Light-Headlamp-Headlight-/221373992142?hash=item338aeb0cce:g:M4wAAOSwGotWlKee .

    Disappointed.....

Perhaps contact Volt directly and point out the seemingly disapointing sales service that you have received from one of their dealers. http://www.voltbikes.co.uk/

    Haibike sDuro HardSeven - Rusting

Not that extreme! ACF50 is a bit of an odd one though. It isn't as good as the claims make out. I'm not basing that upon my bike use, but my carpentry tools. I use it on all of my tools, and particularly my chisels and hand saws, and yet corrosion is still quick to start. I suspect that...

    Haibike sDuro HardSeven - Rusting

I'm so glad to read comments advising against using WD40. I wouldn't have the stuff within a mile of my bike. I always apply duck oil after washing down the bike though. I still make sure to keep it away from any area that has bearings etc. I don't actually leave it on the bike though, as I use...

2 bikes to choose from - feel free to post an alternative

How about a KTM Macina Lycan or other Macina FS bike. http://www.ktm-bikes.at/bikes/e-bike.html They come in a wide selection of frame sizes, have a good spec, and having owned one for the last couple of years, I can vouch for the fact that they handle off road terrain superbly. The only mod...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Brightonebikes, just get hold of mouldable plastic and make your own. It's not difficult. The rear Scud Launcher was intentionally made in two sections. The shock guard is just an old Topeak front mudguard. These days, other than a front Neo guard, I'd rather not bother with mudguards...

So the lever was the issue, but the cover doesn't protect it. I must be missing something about this. :D Handy link that. :) .

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I think that I'll just stick to cleaning the bike after each ride, and applying fork Juice at the same time. If the shock is f****d, why have you put it back on the bike? .
