    Brompton carrier modification

Thanks John!! A circular saw seems to be a great tool. But I've also found this Bosch jigsaw: Gst140Ce2 Gst140Ce Professional Jigsaw 240V 3165140632591 Gst140Ce2 Apparently it can do super straight cut and it's also able to do plunge cut. Would maybe be a bit more handy than a circular saw...

    Brompton carrier modification

Thanks Scimitar, I was looking at the Bosch model, but I think it's not going to make any straight cut on sheets. It's a good tool though, but not for what I have to cut.

Thanks, good idea, I'll try to do small pass. Not sure if bandsaw would prevent kickback however

    Brompton carrier modification

I recently purchased this tool in order to make straight cut on sheets: http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/power-tools/sawing/multi-purpose-saws/Worx-Handycut-310W-Mini-Circular-Saw-11827501?skuId=12338207 I used the 20 teeth wood blade to cut 5 mm polycarbonate sheet. When I initially do the plunge...

I didn't have any answer from the seller on these Rotacasters: Rotacaster 48mm Double, Solid Anyone has an idea on the "bore option" I should choose to make it fit with the brompton? I have no idea how bearing work and these options looks chinese to me lol

    Brompton carrier modification

Haha, I'm quite sure these wheels are too big for my brompton. And it wouldn't make too much difference anyway to the ones I have now. Still thinking about these rotawheels as they can save space (but not as nice for carrier alternative)

    Brompton carrier modification

Hello James, It's a good idea but I don't think it's going to work because the easy wheel won't be straight anymore. What you can potentially do is to replace the easy wheel with some thicker roller wheels, and potentially only do it for the one on the gear side (this is where it gets unstable)

    Brompton carrier modification

Guys, I just discovered a new type of wheel that would completely discard this initial idea: Rotacaster 48mm Double, Solid Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/v/aRTEdKQnF_8 I'd put 2-3 pairs on the rear light area and 1 pair on the triangle side... It should then have great stability and...

And the rear rack unfold to allow much bigger carrying space: I'm so proud! lol It still need a bit of stability, and tend to fall on the side, I'm going to extend by 10 cm the rear on the right to increase stability: Increasing it from this side wouldn't make it bigger folded. But I need...

    Brompton carrier modification

Hello there, I've been with my 30kg brompton for a while on groceries store and supermarket and I've always been annoyed by the carrying capacity and the rolling cability of the easy wheels... It tends to fall on the side from the weight of the bike and doesn't have the ability to turn...

    Lithium Sulphide

Half the Lifepo4 weight... isn't what we already have with the NMC battery from BMSBattery at 192wh/kg? (without case and BMS) They are also described as having 800 cycles, so similar to these lithium sulphide? Amigafan2003, plenty of battery beat lipo in term of weight (NMC, Dow Kokam...

    The flatmate compliant charger

Thanks Scimitar, for now I'm quite satisfied with my heatgun to bend plastic. Maybe later I'll get a kit or go DIY on main outlet, but not on this project ;)

    The flatmate compliant charger

Thanks Old_Dave, I've seen these on Maplin: Project Boxes : Plastic Enclosures : Maplin Electronics But I talking about the wire output rather than the box. I already have the material for it (thanks to D8veh). With the grommets or strain relief grommets it's not waterproof or dust proof at...

    The flatmate compliant charger

Thanks Frank for the warning, I'm going to do it with my heat gun then :) Old_Dave, your suggestion are really helpful and I'm going to get few mini-screwdriver and stress relief grommets :) Too sad there isn't anything that could waterproof and be at the same time "removable" Shemozzle, I...

    The flatmate compliant charger

For a complete isolated enclosure, I'd need to extend the voltage and amperage trim pots on the cover. Any idea what I can use to do that? :)

Thanks D8v3h, I have a heat gun so I'm going to try to do your method. I've also found a DIY method from google: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkjsPrWT0Ic It's quite interesting and professional, but also scary! He advise people to directly connect to the main plug with 2 wires to...
