    Cycling under the rain

Why would the police catch me for having an umbrella?

    Cycling under the rain

I'm completely aware of that last point. That's why I purchased a re-enforced umbrella holder and I'm planning to get this expensive (£50) windproof umbrella. It's suppose to be able to manage wind up to 70 mph. I don't think I'll have that much wind even if I go superfast

    Cycling under the rain

Hello there, I realised that in London it's almost raining every 2 days. And I'm so annoyed when I have to cycle under the rain :(. I decided to get an umbrella for my bike:). Here's what I just ordered from eBay...

Kudos is clearing out our old test bikes on e-bay

You can sell them at 0.99£ as starting price to lower the fees. I'm quite sure a full working bike won't sell below £200 on eBay. And if you're able to provide support/warranty, I think the ending price even become higher. See mine, I started at 0.99£: folding e-bike electric bike dual...

    How to sell an ebike?

I confirm. Ebay is a very good way to sell ebike. I sold mine for £400 (purchased for £700 with shipping cost included). Just take a lot of pictures and people will be interested. I didn't pay any fee on ebay because I started at £0.99, and the buyer paid me cash in hand. So £400 without fee...

    Electric Brompton – custom build

Ask Alan (Catsnapper) to do that for you. He can do it for a good price and never had any problem with overpowered motors.

    Spare battery?

As spare battery, rather than getting the lead acid I'd say just get a second hand lithium battery that is few years old. It would have maybe 60-70% of its initial capacity but it's still similar to lead and the price wouldn't be very different. Another option is to go for modelism battery...

Need help with a battery pack.

What's the issue with soldering? Is it a problem to stick it with the battery tab? Also, what do you need for the case? Maybe you can create your own case for cheap, I had my own polycarbonate box case with vibration foam for 20£ here :)

    Spares and repairs?

What do you need to buy? Maybe you can buy with some member in london/essex online, and they can help you if you have any problem installing the part? If it's a simple task of cables/wires, I can help as I live in london :)

Need help with a battery pack.

Full voltage after charge should be around 41-42V. I'm surprised by the 1000 cycles advertised of the Limn2O4, which are known to quickly loose capacity over time. You should do a capacity test on the battery to check how it performs. I would say that if you can get more than 270wh out of...

New eZee Battery in the 'Pipeline'

hehe, unfortunately I don't know any battery manufacturer in UK at competitive price. Maybe the lipo from HobbyKing but it's not for common customers. I was thinking that because you go to china, you can also check about that at the same time. Battery is the most expensive part of the bike. Too...

New eZee Battery in the 'Pipeline'

Lol, sorry. I always had the impression you are an individual company and then quite independant. My mistake

New eZee Battery in the 'Pipeline'

Do you have a specific partnership with Ezee? I've seen all your battery are "Ezee" branded. I know this is somehow the name of your company but I'm quite surprised by the type of battery you are selling. Why don't you try to buy in large quantity the cheap A123 cells/packs from China...

Brompton build with torque in mind

Yesterday I had too much beer and did some reverse polarity with my battery harness... My battery wires have melted! And half of my mofset have blown. I probably have to buy a new controller now... :( Not having fuses was a big BIG mistake

Brompton build with torque in mind

Thanks John! I'm making progress, and I am so excited to test my bike that I went outside at midnight to try it lol There are still wires everywhere, I still need to clean all of this, but it's already a bike I can ride :) This mac 8T motor is quite noisy actually, but seems much more...

Brompton build with torque in mind

I finally decided to go through longer torque arm to spread the load/torque on the rear fork, rather than beefing the dropout. Here's the left torque arm: I've put the leg of this torque arm far away in order to have a maximum leverage. And here's the right torque arm: This one was more...
