    Cheap Brompton Conversion Kit?

The kit is almost good, except that the rim for 16" is probably not the right size. Check with them if they provide a 349mm rim size or if there is any way they can lace such a rim for you. Most probably you'll have to find a rim in UK and ask a professional to lace it for you (catsnapper do...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

A bit on the expensive side, but I've maybe found exactly what I need in term of cover: 1000D PVC Waterproof fabric caravan campervan motorhome awning cover material 5M | eBay Heavy duty waterproof and fire retardant fabric. I can even use that to store my lipo pack on it.

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Thanks Wurly. That seems to be a good idea. I've seen that on ebay: Matt Kitchen Units Cupboard Doors Draws Self Adhesive Vinyl Cover Up Fablon | eBay Would that be waterproof? I need something that would protect from water. An alternative would to paint the box: - Get the spray:Plasti-kote...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Yeah, very ugly for sure lol. At least people won't want to steal it from me. And few that've seen this battery told me it's a car battery  This is an 66V20AH A123 battery at worth 500£ or more if purchased in Europe :) Tinker, I was looking for food box but they were all the wrong...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Here is what the pack now look like when it's finished: You can see the yellowish stuff on the corner, and some of the hot glue I added to make sure the welded area won't move, even under the food plastic wrap I used to make it waterproof.

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Hello there, Yesterday I realized my plastic box felt apart again. It is a battery protection box made of 5 mm polycarbonate sheet: I used the plastic cement provided by the seller but it wasn't strong enough and felt apart multiple times already. I already tried industrial super glue...

Best electric bike for 38 y.o. female with heart disease

2500£ is a good budget for an ebike. You can even choose first the bike you like, then ask someone to electrify it for you. Find the normal bike you like most, and add about 3-5 kg for the electric kit (motor + controller + wiring...) and 1 kg / 10 km required for the battery. For example: -...

My current 20" folding bike short list for next conversion...

That's a very good price. I said that because I wanted to do wheelies with my brompton. So I purchased a Mac 8T with a 12 Fet controller. But at 2000+W acceleration it barely does a mini-wheelie. I was thinking that for a double suspension montain bike you would like to do wheelies too lol.

My current 20" folding bike short list for next conversion...

Buuuaaaaahhhahhhah! That's a nice bike! What's the weight and how much is it? If only I had room where I live, I'd get a full suspension bike like this one with a big fat motor. Or a super nice road bike with a small friction drive. Please don't use a ladies/whimpies motor on it. No Cute100...

    Battery care advice please

I'd say the general rules for lithium batteries: - Do not charge under 10 Celcius. It will reduce its capacity permanently - Keep them in dry and cool environment, between 10C and 25C - Keep them around 40% of charge for long term storage. - Remove the BMS from the pack if you keep it un-used...

    Re-spoking a motor into a smaller wheel

Yeah, I'd do the same. Keep it as a spare for now until you're sure of your decision. Motor are not the most expensive part of the bike. You can probably get a cheap cute motor for less than £100 shipped. Lacing the wheel by a professional would cost you around 70£ I think. If I were you, I'd...

    Re-spoking a motor into a smaller wheel

+1 for Flecc comment. Unless you want to ride at 11mph, you'll also have to change the controller and the battery to increase the speed. Maybe what you can do is to keep the battery and get a new kit (motor + wheel + controller) with speed that will fit your 20" bike, as the battery is the...

    Cycling under the rain

Naaah, this one doesn't worth it. It's just a prototype, not the final product. And with 10W (peak) power per panel, I'd need weeks to charge the bike lol

Guys, I know I'm a bit crazy, but I actually purchased a trailer based on your recommendation: Children Luggage Cargo Bicycle Bike Trailer New Y/B | eBay This one is quite convenient but really heavy at 11 kg. I supposed it's required for some safety and I didn't manage to find area to shave...

    Cycling under the rain

Guys, I directly pointed the issues to the seller: Me: "Hello there, I'm interested in this umbrella. But I'm very doubtful it would be able to face strong wind and rain from UK. With strong wind, wouldn't the umbrella reverse or (worse) push the bike out of the road? Thanks,"...

Guys, I think you have too much "a priori' about umbrella. Check this video test of the Senz umbrella: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFzOwq5PldQ&feature=relmfu Tested at 130 kph and on a motorbike!! Whaaat else?
