Legal bike how to chose between them?

Eddio was correct, and as a then forum lurker, I also took on board what he had said. I had originally intended to go for a Kalkhoff BS10, but stupidly on one rainy day, I ventured past a cycle shop, and there in the window sat my bike. Talk about an impulse buy! :D On the positive side of...

Legal bike how to chose between them?

That one did cross my mind. :( The forks they know about, but I was also wondering about the component aspect. It should make zero difference to the electrical side of things, but it was something that was playing at the back of my mind. Any excuse and all that. As for the Jumper, a lovely...

Legal bike how to chose between them?

As for the question. Buying the first bike, my decision was based purely on style. I hate and still do hate external batteries. I prefer a bike to have clean lines, but sadly looks alone don't make a quality bike. After buying the BH, I began to learn what I actually required from a bike, and...

    Quick Satmap question

I know that a few on here are using Satmap active 10 and 12's and I have a quick question. I realise that you can plan the route to be ridden in advance, but can you also replay the ridden route afterwards, as in.. you go for ride with the system turned on, it records where you have ridden, and...

Legal bike how to chose between them?

Isn't that where final drive gearing comes into play? I've designed my set up for exactly that purpose, binning the OE chain rings in favour of 24/38 on the front and an 11/36 rear cassette. Top end on road pedal speed is obviously down, but this bike isn't about that. The difficulty that I...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Judging by the emails that I have received today, my standing at the bottom of the BH tree and shaking the branches, has finally had the desired effect. With any luck, BH UK have had their backside firmly and deservedly kicked.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Well my email to the MD worked, and I've already a reply from him. He is arranging to take the bike back, as in back to Spain, completely nut and bolt the whole thing, replacing anything and everything that requires it. So why did I have it take it to the top to get a result. It shouldn't be...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I guess that it had to be done. I went out to try the bike tonight and all was well until mid way. I just kept getting error codes, and whilst the ride was 20miles long, I reckon that had I not been using both assist (eco) and non assist, that I'd have killed the new battery in ten miles! This...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

SRS, you made a wise choice by not buying a BH. They are a fantastic bike, until something goes wrong, then no one from BH could careless and you are pretty much on your own. 6 weeks for a replacement motor when the rear wheel bearing failed. 3 months to receive a set of replacement forks, and...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Nice photo Tim, where are you based? The new battery for the BH has finally arrived. It's only taken 7 weeks!!!!!!! BH are SHITE!!! The next two days at work are going to be pretty tough, but I'm still hoping to get out on it Friday eve to get it mucky again. I'd forgotten just easily...

Coming from a motorcycle circuit racing background, your statement below pretty much winds me up more than anything. I hate cheating at any level. So straight away, the odds are taken away from other riders and the event was trying to be fixed. I'm afraid that in my eyes, it makes the whole...

Not knowing how the heats were run for the event, does the above statement mean that had I entered the BH as a casual non competitive rider, that I would have been racing a against a professional cycle racer?

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

Only just spotted this. I feel really gutted for you, not just because of having the bike stolen, but also for the way that is affected your family. Sadly nothing else that I can add or do. :(

I'd also suggest making a separate class for the bikes that have a throttle fitted. That way, any possible cheating on power management aside, there is then no unfair advantage. .

    Next ride booked 22/06/2014

These clips from the day were filmed by the lad that I went with. They aren't pin sharp, but you can get the gist of the ride from them.

It's quite a handy one for me, as I can add into several different routes, and usually pop up it at least once a week. The odd thing is that as kids we used to cycle down it flat out with fishing rods attached to the bike. Do a bit of fishing at the bottom, then cycle back up, without really...

I'd hate for you just to take my word for it, and I'd really suggest that you try one first. :) Not my videos, but riding up this 1 mile long hill on the KTM, my time was 4mins 22 secs, compared with 4 mins 41 secs on the BH Xtrem with it's Dapu motor. The Panasonic somehow also felt more...

jdallan, I can certainly vouch for both the performance and battery duration. I realise that you have checked out what I had written, but linking directly to this udpdate, you will see that the battery is hopefully more than adequate...

    Next ride booked 22/06/2014

Hi Rob. It was far more friendly this time. I did blast past about twenty or so people on one climb, and received plenty of "that's cheating" comments, but all of them were very friendly and each followed up with laughter. Someone before the ride made the same comment, but for some reason I...
