    2017 KTM Fogo 271

Fitted new cassette and 14t chainring. Quick run up local hill, low gear peddling speed is 6-7km/hr, before it was 8-9km/hr. The lower speed is perfect when riding with friends on muggles bikes. The other plus is being able to climb moderate hills unassisted if have flat battery.

Check out Cube range they tended to be better value than Haibike.

Overweight and looking for what to buy.

Sounds like better system than cadence sensing systems I've ridden.

Overweight and looking for what to buy.

There are two ebike control systems torque and cadence sensing. Torque sensing, motor amplifies your effort, power settings are typically 50, 100 and 200%. You have to put some effort in but at 200% can still climb hills without breaking a sweat. Gives superman feel and tends to encourage more...

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

I'm currently running factory 11spd with 11-42 and 15t chainring. Have new Sunrace 11-46 and 14t waiting to be fitted, this weekend maybe. I spent most of my time climbing single tracks in eco using 36 or 42 which is wearing out because it is aluminium. With setup should be able to spread wear...

    Dowsing for Water

Modern Leak detection companies use electronic equipment. Can tell distance from monitoring point to a <1meter over 20-50m. Works best on metal pipes. Combined with pipe/metal detector leak location can be very accurate, which is critical as digging holes is expensive.

What do you think of EX1 drive train?

    Crank drive performance

Definitely not up to serious MTBing on regular basis. But it would make good commuter when fitted with road tyres. FS is great for ironing out pot holes and kerbs while allow tyres to be run at max pressure, 9spd is perfect for commuting and is cheap to maintain. Lately being running FS eMTB...

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

I've never notice much difference between sport and turbo, especially nothing like jump from eco to tour and tour to turbo. If I'm using turbo then battery life is not issue.

    electric bicycle weight

Have to be careful of display and assist buttons. I remove display and use block of wood on assist button side.

    Crank drive performance

The bike manufacturers don't deal with drive warranty issues, it is between shop and drive manufacturer. Bike manufacturer doesn't make any money off aftersales standard batteries, bike specfic ones in case of Focus Jam and Specialized are different.

    Crank drive performance

Nothing against your bikes but I doubt you can build a decent FS MTB for £1400 let alone add a motor and battery.

    Crank drive performance

If Maxdrive is so brillant why aren't any of main brand MTB manufacturers using it.

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

If you use sport mode regularly then losing it would be an issue. I've never found a use for sport as it is not much different from turbo. I'm either in eco or tour to get fit and conserve battery or turbo when battery isn't issue and need to haul arse.

Advice Needed Re: Waterproofs for Commuting

I use cheap raincoat and overtrousers with over shoe. 20minute in torrential rain and my clothes and shoes are damp but not sodden. If looks like rain put your work clothes in waterproof panniers and wear cycling clothes and shoes. Overshoes are definitely worth while, good when road is wet...

Yep, yet another request for advice on what to buy, please

The Gaint eMTB is likely to be factory middrive torque sensing setup. Kits and most hub drive ebikes are cadence sensing, a more disconnected feel. There are hub drive with torque sensing. If you want to be able ride about assist cutoff of 15mph for extended periods, then trekking or hydrid...

2018 mtb, some real nice models on here.

If you wait another year Bosch is likely to bring out new CX drive with direct drive and quieter. Only guess but can't see them not applying Active drive upgrades to Performance line drives. 700Wh battery is also likely. My CX FS MTB is only 6mths old so no upgrade any time soon. When I do may...
