    Bosch classic to Bosch CX

For road rides, simplest way to extend your battery range is to topup it up while having coffee at cafe. The cost of spare battery will buy you a lot of coffees. My wife's shimano STEPs drive has advantage here as it will charge battery to 80% in 2hrs. A 40 minute charge typically gives is...

    Brose motor problems

I would say lack of display is bonus, I find the Bosch and Shimano are bit of distraction. The optional remote assist switch for Brose would be good idea, I treat it as extra gear change.

    Bosch classic to Bosch CX

My wife's Shimano STEPs is similar to classic at 50nm. My CX drive tourer mode would be equivalent to STEPs High (classic Sport/turbo). When it comes to assist you don't get something for nothing the CX extra torque will consume more power but you typically get 500whr battery giving extra 20%...

Don't use strong jets especially in bearings and electrics. Best rinse with shower mode and back of a bit.

Unbelievably bad experience with a Haibike SDURO Trekking S RX

From what I read E8000 batteries and E6000 are meant to be. Would put it to test before buying. Interchangeable batteries is strong selling point as it encourages brand loyalty. Especially if customer has 2 bikes or spare batteries.

Unbelievably bad experience with a Haibike SDURO Trekking S RX

In all research I've done only Impulse drive (kalkhoff) has had major issues. Bosch,Yamaha, Brose, Shimano all seem good and typically come with 2yr warranty on motor and just importantly battery. The new Shimano E8000 drive is yet to prove its self but can't see Shimano not supporting it if...

    Front forks

I've fitted a steeper stem to XC hard tail to give more upright position. Made difference to comfort and didn't seem to effect off road handling. Yes it does look different but I bought it to ride not look at.

Last years models are normally an excellent deal assuming you can find one in your frame size. I got lucky with mine but had to forgo 2017 upgrade to plus tyres and smaller display.

Day 2 at Hanmer. We rode lower part of St James trail. Weather was perfect, high 20s, blue skies and light winds. Started from Homestead and took left hand route up valley on cycle path to Jacks pass (7km), at top of pass it joins 4wd road before dropping into valley down short steep windy...

Ride may be hard for light trail work but nothing running low tyre pressure and a Suntour NCX suspension seat post won't fix. If you still need more comfort a RS paragon 63mm shock is <EUR200. Perfect commuter drive system Gates belt + N380 and performance drive.

It may depend on kids bike, a case of try before you buy.

Trailgator won't work with 20" bike that has shocks, maybe OK with solid forks. He is a few years away from 20".

Good for all the family :)

Checkout "trail-gator", more versatile as it can be used with kids bikes.

First visit to Hanmer Springs in south island. Incredible landscape with nice MTB tracks on edge of town. Tracks vary from Expert downhills to lovely flat windy paths through forests, which are ideal for young kids. Very pretty town centre, plus it has hot water spring baths (hence name) for...

42t is fine if riding on your own but not if you ride with riders on normal MTB, especially at 5-7km/hr on steep climb. I've ordered a 14t chainring and may fit 11-46t cassette in future.

Best model MTB for BBS01 Crank Kit?

The Cube is Active (50nm) motor, their website is misleading. Still an excellent motor for road and touring. Would be OK for MTB as long as terrain is not to steep (>25%), given lack really low gears. My wife's STEPs bike is geared same, will handle short steep off road inclines but rider is...
