    Need help with Ebike choice

The spec level on Cube is good for commuting and light/occasionally MTBing. For more serious MTBing I'd recommended air shock and 11spd. Also checkout 2017 MERIDA BIG NINE E-LITE 650 TITAN BLACK Better shock and slightly better components. Same CX drive.

Scott Espark 720 Vs Haibike SDURO AllMtn RC

If you still own the hard seven and plan to keep it, then bike with same drive would be good idea as you get spare battery.

    Full Suspension or Not?

I decided to buy FS eMTB, only ever had hard tail human powered MTBs before. Lower price and maintenance of hard tail was appealling, but after riding eMTB on rough rocky trail I'm happy with my choice. My primary interest is MTBing with option to use it for trekking with wife and her city...

    Brose motor problems

Worth checking price of replacement batteries. Sooner or later you will need one as spare or replacement. When comparing Bosch and Shimano at one stage, Bosch was 2.5 price. Because my wife's Shimano was rack mount, whatever eMTB I bought wouldn't have compatible battery. If her bike had been...

    Brose motor problems

I was wondering if I rushed into my Cube purchase especially without trying Levo. This thread has put those regrets to rest. Can't wrong with Bosch drive for reliability and performance.

    Need help with Ebike choice

The reviews on E8000 are good, my biggest issue with Bosch is power assist switch. I find it hard to use without looking at it, easy to double/ triple tap and end up in wrong level. E6000 I never need to look at and no double taps. When MTB you can't afford to take eye of track for second to...

    Need help with Ebike choice

I'm fan of factory mid drives, you get benefit of torque sensing, more natural feel. Cleaner installation and more reliable system, with excellent support and warranty (2yr) for both drive and most importantly battery. In regards to kits, you need to have s bit of DIY capability, Bafang...

Is it worth trying hybrid tyres.

My cube 140 came with Hans Damp, for such aggressive looking off road tyre they are surprising quiet any easy rolling on road. No problems doing 27-28km/hr unassisted on flat with no wind and that is with offroad pressures.

    Help?

A good hard tail is a versatile bike as you can get. Suspension seat post(suntour ncx), touring tires, mud guards, lights, pannier and you have excellent tourer and commuter that eats curbs. In standard form allows you go MTBing. For moderate MTBing hubs are fine, but do try both cadence and...

    Gearing and motor

I bought the Cube Stereo HPA14 race 500 (what a mouth full), last of 2016 and shop wanted it gone, at significant discount. Was planning to wait for some Shimano E8000 eMTBs next year but price was right and I'm not patient. Test ride was on road didn't want to dirty it if I decided not to...

    Gearing and motor

Going off reviews the new Yamaha PWX addresses low cadence issues of current drive. Review of new STEPs E8000 (MTB drive) are also excellent. We own a STEPs E6000 an love it smooth and very responsive. I expect the E8000 to be better. Going to do test ride on Cube with Bosch CX drive today...

    Help?

Given MTB is your thing, a factory mid drive eg Bosch Yamaha are way to go. The most important item on any MTB is suspension, do your home work on shocks. My midrange MTB has lower end air shocks and are far superior to cheap hydraulic ones on my sons entry level MTB. Spend extra and get better...

    Shimano Steps vs Bafang Kit

My wife has Discovery E, she finds it a comfortable ride. I ride it a bit more than I should and have come to appreciate the step through frame. Rack has been very useful when fitted with panniers (Axion Appalachian), no backpack, plus they hold helmet.

    Shimano Steps vs Bafang Kit

The throttle on bike I tried was more on/off switch hence bad experience. A better variable power delivery throttle should work better.
