Importing from China - Learn from my costly mistake

I am a regular buyer of goods on Aliexpress. You need to open up a dispute from within 'My Orders'. Be sure to include photos of the damage. Aliexpress are good when it comes to judging a dispute fairly, so I wouldn't worry. Keep us posted on the progress of your claim.

    36 or 48 volts?

Not sure I get your logic here. If you aren't going the fully legal 250W route, why not go the whole hog and opt for 750W/48V? You can run it with the power dialed down, but you still have the option of more oomph when you really need it.

    Nuts always getting loose

Nord Lock washers are intended to prevent bolt loosening where vibration or movement occurs to the fastened material. They are available in a wide range of sizes and a number of different platings. The only downsides I've found so far is that they are a little thicker than regular washers (not...

    Nuts always getting loose

So, has nobody else here tried Nord Lock washers before? I can't imagine that you'd still be suggesting Nyloc nuts + threadlock if you had. I'm not saying that Nylocs and threadlock doesn't work for you, it just didn't for me running 3kW with frequent use of regen. They're such a simple solution...

    Cycle Mirror

I don't have a Dutch style bike, but I can say that there is enough adjustability on the Mirrycle to cope with any bar angle. As long as you have an open bar end, it'll fit.

    Nuts always getting loose

    Yep, they're the correct ones.

    Nuts always getting loose

Trust me, Nord Locks are the business. They actually expand as you apply torque to the securing nut in an anti-clockwise direction, making it almost impossible for the nut to come undone on its own.

    Nuts always getting loose

The first link are the ones, assuming it is 14mm that you are after. I know they seem expensive, but put that aside and buy them. Don't bother with the second link. They are junk and nothing like Nord Locks.

    Nuts always getting loose

Nord Lock washers. As effective as a trip to the local sexual health clinic when it comes to solving your nut problems. They're an amazingly simple solution and you'll wish you'd have tried them long ago.

    Helmets @ Aldi

I stand by my original comment. I've seen many a forum ruined by posters who create such a poor signal to noise ratio, that it makes finding and assimilating information more difficult than it should be. Do realise that I never singled out anybody in particular Flecc. Your input to this forum is...

    Where to buy SJ4000 camera?

I would have suggested Yoovuu as they are authorised resellers, but they look like they are currently out of stock. https://www.joovuu.com/gb/action-cameras/98-sj4000-camera.html?search_query=sj4000&results=7

    Cycle Mirror

Having been recommended this mirror by many others and also since using it for around a year myself, I suggest the Mirrycle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BICYCLE-CYCLE-HANDLEBAR-BAR-END-MIRROR-MIRRYCLE-MOUNTAIN-ROAD-BIKE-USA-MAKE-/131244669723?hash=item1e8ecabb1b:g:G50AAOxyLN9SjJKK

    Bargain buy - Parts

I bought two pairs and got four pairs for £1.98. Strange thing is that the postage cost somebody £3.30. I was going to split the packs and use them for flashlight cells, but now I'm wondering about what else I could use them for. The datasheet says each cell is good for a maximum continuous...

    Helmets @ Aldi

Oooh, I like the look of that one. A quick google tells me the model is the 'City V' and also available in a matt black. Anyone know of a physical store that has them in stock to try on?

    Helmets @ Aldi

I rubbish full face helmets because they are not as safe as a suit of armour. This conversation has gone the same way as many others on this forum. The OP was bringing to our attention a winter helmet for sale at a good price. Why certain individuals feel the need to evangelise one way or the...

    What lights do you use

All my lights are powered from my main bike battery. Having previously ran lights with their own power source for years, I would now NEVER go back to the routine of having to charge them every couple of rides. Details of my lighting setup can be found in this thread with photos in posts #6 and...
