How much weight do you lose on a e-bike ride?

I understand that burning calories by excercise for weight lose is a hard way of doing it. But couple excercise with the right eating plan and its great. I always think its not about weight its about fitness. If you carry a bit of timber but do regular excercise you can still have good...

How much weight do you lose on a e-bike ride?

I've always wondered how much energy I am burining on say my 18mile round trip. I know that if I was to do the commute without assistance I would be burning roughly 800calories at the speed I am going each way. (Or at least thats what my sport tracker tells me). However unassisted I would go...

Road racing in the lanes (man v machine)

Nice video, shame you never got the front cam working. Just shows that a majority of cyclists can get above that 15mph on a flat and with the reduced weight without the electric gubbins theres not much improvement over a standard bike. Although when you come to a hill its a complete...

    Bottle Battery Kit

sunlova are a supplier from bafang the manufacture in china. Quite a few companies here on pedelec's use their motors. They seem to be reliable enough at their rated power etc. The only time people have had issue's is when they've tried to squeeze 3 to 4 times the rated power and even then...

Difference between suspension and no suspension...

helps pedal faster on up hills. I wouldn't say the front suspension fitted to my bike is great. I'll look at upgrading going forward but to be honest i only really ride road with occasional trip's down canals so i could probably get away without it. For an ebike application though a front...

Best Bang for Buck Basic Conversion

pretty much so. Alot of hub motors all come with disk options. Its only a case of specifying for it. I personally don't have disk brakes but the recent hub motors i.ve brought all come with disk mounts. Usually you need a few spacer's to get the correct offset for the brake caliper.

Difference between suspension and no suspension...

suspension with lock out. Compromise. I actually prefere a rigid. However i have front suspension but use the lock out alot. But with ebike's you don't mind loosing a little pedal power in favor of a bit more comfort.

Best Bang for Buck Basic Conversion

probably best going for a direct drive motor to hit that speed really. Less moving parts etc. Won't be as much low torque but speed should be easy to achieve. Puma, mac motor, golden motor company, loads of direct drive motors about.

Is it Torque not Speed what we are really looking for?

having a larger chain ring at over 48 teeth would help. I will look at investing!

Is it Torque not Speed what we are really looking for?

thats why i like the bpm. Even at 36v it doesn't slow down to much uphils. I still hit around 17mph uphill. I am peddling like mad though in the highest gear on the bike though. Anything past 25mph and my legs need another higher gear which my bike doesn't have. In comparison the smaller...

    Promotional posts from businesses/advertisers

Oh no i'm all for it if a customer ask's for it. My point is no relevant spam that crops up. If its directly asked then its on topic.

Is it Torque not Speed what we are really looking for?

With the way that Hub motors work with peak torque being at half the rpm range it would be difficult with conventional hub motors. They'd need to be a speed cut out rather than the rpm / volt combo.

    Promotional posts from businesses/advertisers

I'd prefere them to be a seperate entity from the general discussion really. The amount of times you go into a thread then get to the third post which is someone trying to sell their product to you. Its carmed down a bit but generally that is what happens. Could at least have a sub...

Well i took the plunge - finally!!

sizeable controller if its rated at 15 amp. Peak is probably close to 30amp's. It would definetly be making full use of the extra amp's the battery has. Nice to see though that your enjoying it despite the crank noise. My bottom bracket is on its way out if it makes you feel any better. :-)
