    Lithium..... really hot batteries

Bit of a worry as I always keep mine in the hall of the apartment. Which is probably a huge fire hazard and the only exit out. Unless I can fall 3 floors and some how land like spider man. I think from now on I'll keep it in the living room next to a window so that if it does catch fire :- 1)...

Storck Multitask RADDAR Review on Bikeradar.com

i think it looks great and the swiss motor does sound appealing. Least your getting a decent frame and group set. Like with anything you pay for the support and warrenty as well mark up on parts and i can't imagine the motor come's cheap if its swiss manufactured. Hence the price reflects it.

    sunlova kit packed up

really need a volt or multimeter to help narrow your problem down. If your battery indicator on the throttle isn't on then power isn't getting through. Battery may have cut out, by shorting or even maybe one of the wires within the battery has blown or melted cutting the power. Sunlova are...

    Bargain Lifepo4 cells

They are a good price but to make any substantial battery amp hour wise the pack would be huge. Still a good price for those who would want a 2/3 amp hour battery as a back up.

Where is the catch with this battery

I just get them to write sample on the box to try and wangle it through customs.

    Got Bored, Calculated eBike savings

The point is that this technology is the future - doesn't matter in what application it will have to be used. Espcially when petrol reaches a critical cost when its just simply not cost effective to buy one. I have two friends at work that won't get a car becasue its to expensive to run /...

    BEBA present ebikes to Parliament

i think at the moment awareness is key. Its not exactly main stream at the moment. The fact i'm quite young and enjoying the up sides of electric biking is great but anyone i speak to about it or at work are just simply not aware they even exist. As did i untill i moved to the city an by...

A word of warning to all new bike owners.

A full face will always be alot better, but motorcycle helmets are too heavy for a cycle application. Also they are poorly vented. Fact is I brought the helmet to at least I feel safer when on the road. This doesn't mean I ride like a loon and to be honest at the faster speeds of Ebikes I'm...

    BPM kit build thread

battery management system. Basically a small pcb that has certain settings like low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, also helps balance cells when charging. There for safety really. Most brought ebike batterys come with them fitted.

A word of warning to all new bike owners.

i use a specialized aurora helmet in silver. Mainly because it was tested to the older higher safety spec than the new jess stringent tests. Does the job, but for local city riding i don't use it. Or the motor or battery. Anything over 4 mile and i wear all the gear.

    Got Bored, Calculated eBike savings

despends how much you spend really. I brought a bike for 150, kit for 280, after that i brought another kit for 150, plus other bits like multi meters and soldering irons and bolts an washers. All in all i.ve spent £650. This will take me about 9months to break even riding 5 times a week...

    250w and low power experiments...

what size battery have you got? The 13amp max controller on my 250watt system was a similar spec. It meant you really had to pedal quite a bit. Which is good because you didn't slow down too much but equally meant you wasn't to slow on the start up but got a decent amount of exercise. Also...

What a difference a drop of oil makes

good stuff any oil is better than no oil. I just use some fenwick's professional lube. Its kind of like wd40 but i little thicker. However the can is at very high pressure so never lasts that long at 7 quid a can. In saying that though i use it on all cables, chains an free wheels. As its high...

Do you cycle in the rain and......

Thanks for the tip about sports direct. Ended up getting a few more t shirts to ride in. Some muddy fox shorts with the liners which make the saddle super comfy now. Some crap socks and cheap pair of lonsdale black trainers to ride in. Else i'd look like a right tool in my boots lol. All in all...

    BPM kit build thread

To be honest as long as it works and the cruise control is a nice feature. More annoyed by the fact my rear tire got a puncture today. Not through the tire but the stem looks like its rubbed and caused a hole! Not good at all.

Juicy Bike Kits ? Tell me about them

The BPM with 20amp's through it is alot quieter than the smaller bafang. Or least it seems that way. But then again its positioned behind me and I'm generally going quicker than I was on the front driving motor. So that probably helps me think its quieter. None of them are very loud in my...

Juicy Bike Kits ? Tell me about them

Very quiet front hub motor. You could hear it a bit when going up a steep hill. But generally silent. Esp around 10mph + No noticeable drag when the motor was off. But once your past the legal assist speed i could travel faster if the motor was off, ie throttle on till at 15mph then throttle...

    Alien Typhoon.

Who boasts speed? Its all about torque :-) I understand both sides of the debate. If its 15mph on a road bike it does feel slow. But the motors are only assist for hills really etc and to go further than you ever would with out a little help. I'm only young ish and love the push bike and...
