Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Been back to the local bike shop today - they have been really good - as have Raleigh a) Raleigh have offered to send a new battery and charger just in case there is a problem with one of them b) The LBS rang Raleigh for me (hence (a) ) and Raleigh admitted that they find the charger connection...

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

If you are skidding on the Array then I would suggest that this is just the tyres - I seem to remember that the Array's tyre looked more slick roadie type that the Vengeance

I want to buy my first eBike but I am overwhelmed by so many choices. I don't know where to pay attention.

My wife has one of these and I have ridden it quite a bit. It seems like a great bike - but like all bike with small wheels and fairly narrow handlebars it can be a bit twitchy on bumpy roads. Works fine when you get used to it

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

I have ridden my Array on rough paths and it coped fine I tried both but much preferred the Array - the Array did seem to have more Road friendly tyres - for what difference that makes I have noticed that the Array tyres are puncture resistant - dunno about the vengeance

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Thanks for the replies I really think that it is a really bad design - it should be far easier to get sorted easily Basically there is no reason for it to be harder than plugging a laptop in

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Hi all I recently bought a Raleigh Array - which is great Just one major problem - plugging in the charger to the battery - it is very fiddly and difficult - the local bike shop things the pins may be a bit bent and the sockets are a bit damaged This is because it is impossible to be certain...

    Insurance advice wanted

Not as far as I can see - if you want bike insurance that covers 3rd party and theft outside the house then you seem to have to get something specific - especially with an ebike which tends to be valuable

    Insurance advice wanted

shop around for different insurance - I was with tesco and they just refused any type of ebike - switched to Direct Line and they are fine with it as long as the ebike is properly secured Still - I have insured it with Yellow Jersey as well to cover for anything outside the house - plus 3rd...

    Replacement ebike

Good point I mostly ride on roads - but if I see a path or canal I tend to just wander along it. My normal ride involves about 14 miles of roads and 5 or 6 miles of footpaths - including one steep hill of about 100 yards up gravel (which I sometime get to the top of!). I tend to base my tyres...

    Prospective pedelecer

Maybe best to try a test ride - Halfords (yes - I know) do a 48 hour test ride - but it may be limited to bikes below your minimum standard by quite a way. But local bike shops may well do something, especially if they know you - I am assuming that some of them know you quite well! You might...

    electric scooter/skateboard laws

Yup - unless they cause a problem the police have better things to do - and if they try to catch them they could get into a race they cannot win without pulling in half the police in the local area - not worth the agro unless they hit someone I suppose Also - they have little guidance and...

    Replacement ebike

Hi all Currently I have an old Powacycle Salisbury that I have had since 2011 - the bloke I bought it from said it was 14 months old - so it is probably 10 years old - cots me £220 - bargain of the century!!! Anyway - my wife has said that, as it is getting a bit old now - maybe I should think...

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

Tesco seemed unwilling to cover an ebike under any circumstances Given the increase in popularity I would assume that they will change their policy at some point It is annoying because I checked for bike cover before I took it out - I just missed the bit that says it will not cover a bike with...

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

As far as insurance is concerned - I thought that my bike was covered for theft on my home insurance. I rang them up (Tesco - to name and shame) to check and it turns out that bicycles ARE covered - but ebikes are not covered - no matter the value of the bike and ebike. So they are happy to...

    A Different Perspective on ebikes

Marvelous - genuine rant with a twist. Bloke who wrote that has a talent with words and understands cycling and ebikes (possibly reluctantly!)

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

I agree - this seems to give a timeline that was missing before. At a junction where there were still pedestrians crossing, the cyclist was being unreasonable in continuing assuming they would not be there when he got there. Any adult cyclist should know that pedestrians are unpredictable and...
