    pothole accident

Cwah, I wish you a quick recovery. Count your self lucky a truck was not following. Your type of accident is common and a good reason for all riders not to carry hard or sharp objects about your person. I hope you reconsider your idea of batteries about your person.

    5kg battery in my jacket?

4 or 5 years ago, thieves broke into a bike shed after following me home. They stole the Rockshox suspension forks, left everything else. My insurance company paid for a new pair. From memory, several hundred pounds. The battery is an essential and integral part of any ebike. I see no reason...

    5kg battery in my jacket?

Cwah, would it not be safer to buy an off the peg e-bike and just insure it against theft. When it get nicked, claim and get another one. I am not sure that wrapping yourself up like a suicide bomber in Central London is the brightest of ideas.

    Jeremy Clarkson Suspended

Shame that the BBC don't take the same stance with their child abusers. They employed Clarkson to entertain and make money. He been doing that very well. I suspect that for some who don't like his ways will take any excuse to get rid of him.

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

I have wheel and seat post locks on my hybrid town bike. A little peace of mind when shopping. They won't and are not intended to stop the whole bike going but may stop you having to ride home without a saddle.

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

Thanks for the link, appreciated. I do however thing you are wrong in your thinking. Much the same a Pinhead security nuts, these prevent cycle parts being removed but will not prevent the wheels rotating. The locks that you have linked to do look very well made and a lot nicer than the...

KTM Macina Lycan GPS+ First organised ride of the year.

Eddie That kids short ride was 15 miles, a remarkable achievement for any six year old in those conditions. Sorry that I had to pull out of the ride but any time you wish me to repeat the just ask. I wasn't happy to miss it but seeing the poor conditions, particularly the viscous winds I'm...

    More EU Harmonisation

Theres nothing wrong 100% eyes on the road and riding to the road conditions. It is perfectly safe. In fact, any decent non texting driver should be able to throw away the speedometer and still drive safely. One should be fined for dangerous driving, not safe driving.

    More EU Harmonisation

Who said I don't keep to the speed limit. I said on the continent that one was free to ride to the road conditions. Does the limit relate to something other than safe riding speeds? Surely not! As as far as my driving test, it was taken in a busy town, small streets and much traffic. Driving...

    New safety rules for London

As always with anything like this the word "Fine" is always present and stands out. Whilst I agree that additional safety devices may help, why is that hard working businesses are forced to take on additional and unforeseen vehicle expenses part way through the vehicles working life. It's...

Statement from Bosch in relation to Classic line motors

You are right, it actually took 10 days including a couple of emails back and forth. In fact Martin booked up the shipping to German before I'd even got the motor off the bike. I had to quickly get it unbolted and shipped to him on an overnight service.

    real off roader?

Whilst life is very good right now, those days were, in a selfish way the best. No money, no internet or phones an no worries. Time, whatever that was lasted forever. They were great days, playing, learning and having fun outdoors. By contrast, we all know the speed and stresses of the modern...

Statement from Bosch in relation to Classic line motors

Eddie, thanks for bringing this to my and everyones attention. I contacted martin@e-bikeshop, no messing about. He gave me the option of taking my bike to him complete or just sending the motor back. I opted to remove the motor. A process that takes about 5 minutes and is a very simple...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Only teasing. Theres nothing worse than a decent path that turns into bog part way along. Sounds like a situation where people may have to try and generate some sort of sponsorship.
