Anyone else ordered Trek nano (Cytronex)?

Yes the 2009 models are pedelec. You have to pedal to get assistance. The older Cytronex Treks you don't. Doesn't make much difference though. Never noticed the popping. Just to had my 2 pennies. I've done 18 months and no complaints. I live in the West Midlands so taking the bike would be a...

When e-cycling for real is too difficult!

Nahhhh. You can't beat the real thing. I'll wager the kit don't come cheap either. That smug looking lady in the tea shirt would be better engaged cleaning the bathroom - she'd burn more calories. As would we all, of course, no sexism intended.:D Perhaps we could all meet up in a virtual pub...

    going more than 15mph

There's nothing you can do riding an E- bike that can affect your driving license. Unless it's in your pocket and you ride into a canal.

    Back in the saddle..

I'm envious. I must get my wife down to Presteigne this year. I just know she'll get hooked once she tries one. I really fancy some trips out this year and going much further afield. Roll on Spring - Summer is usually a bit too wet for me. :)

Wisper 905se Sport or fit a kit myself

I have a vague memory of someone in the lake district using a Wisper off road and raving about it. I can't be sure if it was this forum or some other. Couldn't find a link.

    Paying lip service to cyclists

Drivers passing too close scares me off as well. I've changed routes because of that. Traffic speed bollards are the worst - the ones that narrow the road at intervals and force the cars to pass even closer. As far as the law goes I don't see it makes much difference. It's been illegal to use...

    Electric scooter or bicycle........................

3.3 miles each way is a peice of cake for an e-bike. I do much the same distance on my commute. I can do it without the electrial assistance but it's much more enjoyable with. I find using the car pretty dull now. You'll get hooked and you'll end up using your bike a lot more than you thought.:)...

    Are ebikers saving the planet?

I found the prospect of Mutual Assured Destruction a big concern in the seventies and eighties - could be viewed as suicide from an alien perspective. It would have stopped global warming though.

    A Cyclamatic conundrum?

Flecc, That looks impressive. Never heard of that one before. Im just running the usual Microsoft bloatware -XP and the ultra secure IE6 :o So before anyone else says it Flecc works in Speedos. :D

Someone make this snow go away!!

Hi Eddie - Bright and sunny and 1st time out for a couple of weeks myself. I feel better already. Those potholes are no joke though - I don't fancy riding in the dark. Heavy snow forecast for Wednesday here :(

Someone make this snow go away!!

Sounds horrendous. I never went to an RC school myself. It was my experience that co-eds were a lot more laid back though. All boys was more like a toughening up exercise for the next war. Still the really violent stuff, as ever, down to a small minority of warped individuals.

Someone make this snow go away!!

Same experience here but only one psychopath and it was the ground floor fortunately. Ours took special tablets and his eyes rolled up so you could just see the whites. I well remember one lad been carried out on a stretcher by the PE teachers after a slam to the wall and knee to the...

Someone make this snow go away!!

I well remember freezing my nuts off, standing in goal and 6 inches of snow in a strong northerly wind on the school playing field for 90 minutes. Not even a pair of gloves.:( No mercy shown. Ahhh the good old days.:D PS. And England won the world cup that year.

Someone make this snow go away!!

Gridlock here - heavy snow and council has run out of grit. Actually I think they ran out in November. I've seen none since.

I'm just wondering what the top 5 reasons are for banning electric bikes? Struggling to think of one. I'm assuming the top 5 reasons means they have more than 5.

Top 5 Reasons To Ban Electric Bikes

The Terms and conditions say it all. I agree with Psycosis I'd rather have the real thing. Seriously uncool looking contraption with a load of hassle to get it on the road.

    Global Freezing, Warming or Neutral?

Yes, in 9 years I've not needed any exhaust system replacement :). The engine is in the boot and yes, I know that's got nothing to do with rear wheel drive:o Or were you referring to e-bikes? At least the roads were much improved tonight.
