    Time for a new Wisper?

Just like those dynamos, in the old days, which I also hated. And they were smaller. I agree about the battery. Also the water bottle on the top bar looks off. Yeah far too French Monsieur Flecc..:D

    Time for a new Wisper?

I'd just been looking at some classic, non-electric, lithe and sexy, De Rosa and Cinelli steel bikes before I saw this thread. Also some Soma steel framed bikes (thanks Clarkey I'd never heard of them - now, dammit, I really fancy one). I think the contrast came as a bit of a shock. Big fan...

    Time for a new Wisper?

Sorry Flecc it wasn't the weight I had a problem with. It was the word lithe as in slim, flexible and graceful. I thought it looked a bit stiff, cluttered & Heath Robinson.

    Time for a new Wisper?

"So it must weight under 20 kg and the less, the better and look lithe." The only thing that gives me any feeling of litheness is the handlebars. That picture of the Cybien should not be shown before bedtime.

    New range of Cytronex bikes

Yes thanks Hal. I tried the Capo at Presteigne along with 2 other Cytronex bikes. I had been interested in single speed bikes before I went and was surprised to see 3 of them lined up and ready to try. I tried the Capo first and raced off up the main road. As I've said before I thought it...

Is no one safe on the road.

Too late now. The 4X4 mums would have no problem (assuming they can actually drive off road).

Is no one safe on the road.

Yeah well worth getting a Cycling & Walking (routes) map of your area - especially if the council provide a free one (courtesy of the rate payers of course). I mostly use the advisory routes and generally find them reasonably safe. I avoid A roads, trucks and juggernauts like the plague. All my...

Kalkoff Agattu vs. Tasman vs. Pro Connect

Quote fron Sheldon Brown: "Steel is going out of favour because all but the cheapest stuff is too thin for robots to weld - highly-skilled humans are needed instead"

Kalkoff Agattu vs. Tasman vs. Pro Connect

And I have suffered :( Soon toughened up though :) I have got use to the Trek and I love it. I can see where essexman and others are coming from though. Personally, I have a nice steel frame and forks all waiting to be stripped down and given a decent paint job. Now all I need is a...

Kalkoff Agattu vs. Tasman vs. Pro Connect

The first thing I noticed when cycling an aluminium framed hybrid bike with aluminium forks/frame, for the first time early last year, was the harshness of the ride compared to fond memories of my old steel tourer. That was a Marin hybrid with no suspension but Trek and others all seem to be...

I've got my Synergie Mistral :D

Nice purchase Rogue. South West of Birmingham is very hilly. You did well to get an average 12.8mph. I agree average speeds are a bit meaningless when compared to other bikes with different riders in other areas at different times etc etc. I usually average about 12mph give or take a bit, at...

    At last, a hill-climber...

I totally agree. My bike is my prefered option for journeys less than 20 miles. I'm sure without the electrics it would spend much of its life in the garage (like most bicycles). All the fun and enjoyment of cycling without the awfull slog up the hills. Loads of exercise too. Great stuff and...

    Just back from Presteigne...

Ha Ha... First time I've been compared to an alloy rim. No wonder I feel tyred all the time. Must be the pressure..:D

    Just back from Presteigne...

Dynamic, I too have seen quite a few Trek bikes in bike stands and was not impressed by their condition. Come to think of it I haven't been impressed by the condition of most bikes in bike stands. I think it's an anti theft thing. ;)

    New range of Cytronex bikes

Initial Public Offering? LIY I believe :( Clarkey, Soma Rush sounds great. I'd love one. I'm sure some Soma fans would cringe at the thought though. I wouldn't. Interested to see it. Post some pics if you do the dirty. :D

    X-Bike Rocket Launcher actually works

To be fair mines been fine and I think only 2 posters have had a problem. Not sure about the X6 but on my bike I just check the cage nuts are not loose and the battery is not rattling every now and then. Never is though. As Mark at Cytronex posted there is a problem caused if the battery is...

    Death by Careless Driving case.

Crikey, I really didn't know that. Perhaps we really shouldn't be travelling at all since staying in bed is much safer than driving a 4X4.
