    Derestricted or legal

If the police chose to prosecute you for riding a deristricted pedelec they would charge you with riding an unregistered and uninsured motor cycle.

Plenty of heated gloves available with their own batteries. Everything from D cells for about £10 through 3xAAs to lithium. Google is your friend.

    Bosch Powerpack 400 losing capacity

I know when I was commuting unpowered my average speed would always be slower in the winter. We wear more (usually bulkier) clothing so the air doesn't flow over us as well. Couple that with cold battery performance losses and it's easy to think your battery has less capacity.

Is Shimano Hollowtech 2 BB compatible with BBSHD?

A very quick google gives me images of screwed bearing cups. Shimano's own literature talks about moving the bearings outside of a standard 68mm bottom bracket shell. It will fit.

Is Shimano Hollowtech 2 BB compatible with BBSHD?

Aren't the bearings just screwed into a standard bottom bracket shell? Never used a Shimano Hollowtech but that is how the FSA range worked.

Best derestriction for Bosch Active Line?

I guess you are right with the normal Bosch motor. I believe the active line has a normal chainring with no reduction gears. It is now possible to have 32:32 or 34:34 etc so it is no longer feasible for Bosch to run that check.

    Extra Battery Dilemma.

There are 1200Wh in a 12v 100ah (typical leisure battery size) battery. I can't see a solar system charging a Bosch battery. I'm pretty sure it will have to handshake with the charger before it will work.

Writes it to non volatile memory. Or more likely stores it in the motor controller.

    Freego Hawk crossbar

The frame measurement now / as manufactured / standard issue. I see you have posted it is 170, if this is an aluminium frame no it is not safe! As Flecc says the dropouts won't be parallel. You are putting massive stresses into the chainstays. Unless the company doing the jop is going to...

    Road bike conversion

Is that still true with a fork designed for disc brakes? I guess the stresses will be a lot higher from the brakes than the motor. Always assuming good torque arm(s) are fitted.

Happy pedalling all - haibike problem

Different controls, mine normally shows somewhere between 38 and 41 but if you leave the multimeter connected it will slowly drop. As soon as I switch the bike on it will go to 42.x and stay there. I don't believe there is anything wrong with your original cells, just the BMS / safety system...
