    Latest Project Finished -Nearly

Yes I did mean Intercity. That Argos bike looks very interesting. It's similar to what I had in mind, so I ordered one. Many thanks for pointing it out. I will chuck nearly everything except the frame, forks and handlebars. My plan had been to simply lift the electrical parts from my folder...

It wouldn't be dual voltage swappable then.

    Latest Project Finished -Nearly

Wisper name is now blacked out. Today, i was able to do the final test of riding the bike. I can now insert either the 36v battery or the much lighter 24v one. The controller recognises the difference and adjusts itself accordingly within about 3 seconds. At 36v, the motor gives 50% more...

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

You can test MOSFETs from the outside by measuring resistance between the phase wires and each of the battery wires.

    Is my battery goosed?

There's nothing wrong with your battery. You have to find the reason for the short in the battery receiver or the controller. I can't help you beyond that because you haven't shown us which bike you have, nor which battery, nor anything at all about what you have.

    Is my battery goosed?

The battery in your voltmeter is flat, so it's giving a false reading. Measure anything else of known voltage to confirm. The problem with your bike is most likely a short circuit. When your battery was on the bike, the BMS's over-current would trip and switch off the battery. When you tried to...

    Latest Project Finished -Nearly

Here's what's inside the PSWP battery: The switch, charge socket and indicator LEDs are all glued in, so I had to cut all the wires and change every connector inside, then join them to the Wisper ones. It was a tight fit to get it in the other case, but it's all done now. I transferred the...

    Greasing up the TSDZ2B

AKM motors usually open easily if you heat up the hub to the temperature where it's just becoming too hot to touch.

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

Controllers that don't work normally have blown MOSFETs and occasionally blown 5v regulators. Sometimes, when people mess about with connectors, they short the 36v to one of the data lines and wipe out the code in the micro-processor. Theoretically, that could happen if a cable was damaged and...

    Bafang clutch

That's the same as many other guys on this forum, but we all had a go and got success - very satisfying! I've built about 20 wheels now. I do it on my lap while watching a film.

    More Cheap PSWPower Stuff

They have 201 rpm AKM 100SX cassette motors listed at $45 inc. shipping. I just bought one with a complete 15A KT controller kit for £119 inc. shipping and taxes. Other people sell KT controller kits for about £80, so I got the motor for around £40!!!! They're ordering system is a bit quirky...

    Bafang clutch

If you can build a wheel, you can get either a MXUS XF08C or AKM100SX motor complete from PSWPower for not much more than what you're going to pay for just a clutch. The XF08C id 280rpm at 36v and the AKM 100SX is 201 rpm at 36v. They list it with an easy-peal label as 350w, though nobody would...

    Help! Electric Avenue help please

I get 100% success rate with any pedal sensor with less than 12 magnets as long as it has the correct rotation direction and connection sequence. The KT 12 magnet ones work with KT controllers, but they're handed and they need correct settings. Some of the other 12 magnet ones work with KT...

    Help! Electric Avenue help please

Typo. You mean C1=2. Personally, I always leave C1=0,which is the deafault setting. P4=1, C4=3 for legal throttle opperation. Both those parameters can be anything if you don't have a throttle, since they only affect the way the throttle works.

    Help! Electric Avenue help please

Non-KT pedal sensors with Julet connectors nearly always give problems when connected to KT controllers. Some have the wrong connection sequence and some just don't want to work. A guaranteed solution is to buy a KT pedal sensor. Alternatively, you could try cutting the cable and rejoining in...

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

Your decision is not based on logic. You're going to have a problem with the battery in the near future, especially if you don't use it much. The Suntour torque sensor you want to use will also pack up pretty soon. Any sensible person would change that stuff now or start afresh with a different...

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

His photo shows that he is using a standard Chinese pedal sensor, not the Suntour torque sensor. Some of what's been discussed is a bit mixed up, so be careful. I'm pretty sure that if you want to use the Suntour chainwheel torque sensor, you need the stepped long bottom bracket that you showed...
