Help with my first conversion kit.

For a 750w motor to be street legal you would have to have it SVA tested, fit a number plate, compliant lights, have it insured, wear a full motorbike helmet and not ride on cycle paths. Worth it? On the face of it the kit you've linked looks to be fair price, as it includes a battery perhaps...

Telegraph Transport Headline, "Fears over plans to double e-bike power

I think the point here is that batteries are perfectly safe so long as they are not abused. I would assume that the bms and associated control system for a domestic battery is way more sophisticated than anything we see on an eapc. After all, weight is no problem and physical dimensions not...

Telegraph Transport Headline, "Fears over plans to double e-bike power

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. The point being that li-ion technology seems to be far more stable than earlier iterations and remains so as long as it not abused. Domestic batteries are now routinely being installed inside houses. Would any one keep a container of petrol, with the equivalent...

Telegraph Transport Headline, "Fears over plans to double e-bike power

I'm currently working in a property that's just had a solar panel and battery system installed. The battery and charger/inverter is mounted inside the house, just on the other side of the wall is the EV charger - in the rain  . Obviously this battery is far larger than any eapc battery...

DFT consultation on increase of 250W limit to 500W

Ee gods ! I fear a mess of unintended consequencies bought about by partially understood technicalities leading to inaccurate language, later to be poured over by legal eagles and bureaucrats themselves leading to authoritive sounding statements that are themselves inaccurate. Aaaaagh! Here's...

    Battery help

35A bms is fine. However are the cells themselves up to it? Do you know what cells are installed in the battery, or at least what the manufacturer says they are? I would suspect that a battery with 35A bms and a controller with 25A max demand you should be OK. Thing to look out for is voltage...

    Battery help

It depends on the maximum current output rating of the battery. With a 25A controller ot needs to be at least 30A. Don't confuse this with the 30ah rating, that's the capacity.

I'm with Chris in this. I can't remember the last time I topped up my pay as you go sim on my £30 dumb phone, 'cos I rarely use it. Had the same number since 2020, it's on the side of my van for customers to phone, if I'm somewhere where there's actually a signal. Last weekend the EE network...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Many years ago, whilst driving a clapped out Astra, I approached an offset cross roads. I was on a side road, crossing a main two lane road, going into another side road offset to the right by half a roads width. As I approached I went down through the gears, judged the speed and distance of...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

The open road part of the test seemed to show that the test vehicle was relying on the speed behaviour of other vehicles to set it's own speed. So is this saying that the auto system is actually taking it's cues from human controlled cars? What happens if they were all auto driving? Could we...

    bike mirrors

If you look at the inboard end of your throttle, where the cable housing is, somewhere there will be a grub screw tightening the collar onto the handlebar. If you loosen this screw you will be able to slide the throttle off the handlebar - hopefully there will be enough spare cable to allow you...

More correctly, no electric assistance is allowed above 15.5mph. I think the OP gets this and it's not what he's asking about.

    1st Bafang conversion -sense check

For some reason I can't find individual batteries on Greenlance site ! Was trying to find what the maximum current output is for the battery you spec. It needs to be around 25% more than the maximum current you program the controller to deliver, in order to not stress the battery.
