    bike mirrors

Both our bikes have these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305008123816?gad_source=1&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338723872&toolid=20006&customid=xE-FS4McAAAAYekCNQwJTvDVlFw6AAAAAA Convex mirror gives a wide view field. They fold easily on friction hinges. Fits on left or right...

Help! PSW conversion kit on Carrera Subway 2?

Saneagles right, a front hub will seem noisier 'cos the motor's in front of you. There are some traction issues on steep, loose/greasy surfaces - normally turns up as bit of scrubbing usually handled by moving your shoulders over the bars. There are some low speed tight manouvering issues but...

    New controller required

I've used Greenbikekit for KT controller and associated parts.

    Assistance cut out

Being a trike, and therefore likely to be for less able/older folk, could it be that the 12mph is set as max speed in the controller? Given the handling eccentricities of delta trikes this would make some sense.

    Ebike batteries

I would think that if your bike, and therefore you, suffer an impact strong enough to damage the battery and it's casing, then battery fire is going to be the least of your worries.

    New controller required

Let's dig some more. No brake sensors or throttle - OK, so that rules them out. Unfortunately the name and number of the bike means nothing. What is needed is a picture of the display, picture/details of the controller and a picture of the whole bike. What is the voltage measurement of the...

    New controller required

So, let's see if I have this right? You were in the shed testing the bike and it was working. You went away, then came back and a 'block of connectors' had come apart and the bike wasn't working. Even though you've put the block of connectors back together the bike is still not working. I have...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Jeeez! Keep it simple. I used a teeny tiny bit of double sided tape - hasn't fallen off yet.

Are motor cut-off brakes legally required?

Brake cut outs are essential for two scenario's. Approaching a junction you need to slow but keep pedalling to change down through the gears to allow you to start off in the right gear. Even more so with a mid drive. During low speed tight mavouvres it's really best if the motor doesn't jump in...

    First attempt ebike conversion

If you want the assist for hills then a direct drive motor is definitly a waste of money and time. They are good at high speed on the flat. On hilss, as the rpm falls, they become battery gobbling heaters. Despite repeated nudges towards a legal geared hub you seem to be persisting on following...

The Anything Thread that is Never off subject.

Where's that then? 'Cos it ain't in Wales. A week ago a bloke rolled his car outside my house, after hitting the trailer parked on my frontage and ramming it into my front door. After the fact he wasn't very well and sat in the back of an unmarked police car drifting in and out of consiousness...

    Controller cooling

I've had similar issues with an Ezee controller, don't know how many fets it has. However, this one's metal case is actually bolted to a flat metal plate on the underside of the rear rack and it still gets too hot to hold. It only cuts out on long climbs in very warm weather but it does seem...

    Conversion costs

G.P. ? Yeh, I vaguely remeber those. Last I heard it was 3-4 weeks to get an appointment and then it's,'Here have these pain killers'. I think the word referral translated into welsh means - 3 weeks after you die. A combination of excercise(swimming, cycling, walking, pilates) and sports...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

    Conversion costs

Some years ago I saw a programme about WW2 tanks being fitted with bright lights as camouflage? They showed that when a tank pulled onto the ridge line of a hill, to fire onto lower ground, bright lights actually broke up the recognisable outline of the tanks making them harder to recognise...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Here's a thing. A proffesional cyclist doing a mountain climb on the tour de france can produce around 650w - but not for long. They can sustain 200-250w for long periods. Just sayin'.

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Do not get caught up in big numbers. High wattage motors are generally direct drive, good at high speed on the flat, crap at climbing hills and highly inefficient at low speed or stop/start riding. This means they are battery eaters. Motors only consume what they are fed by the controller. To...

Ebike died after 200km - battery or motor failure?

You need to measure the fully charged voltage of your battery. If it is around 42v then it is a 36v battery and the display setting needs to be changed.

    Charger recommendation

I've got one of these: https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/product-category/chargers/36v-chargers/ Seems to be a very well made charger which doesn't get as hot as others I've got. Bit more expensive but has a quality feel. Output voltage is trimmable via internal pot.

    Windows 10 pop ups

No. I have altered notifications settings (can't remember where) which has turned the 'search' window on the bottom right tool bar, into a sort of newspaper icon. This has reduced the area that responds to the mouse. However the large pop up window, with all it's garbage conrent, will still...
