    Return to the bent!

It's a 328 rpm 48v being run at 36v. I'm not too worried about the precise speed, so long as it's near enough not to be bleedin obvious and the display doesn't say something stoopid if I do get pulled and they try it on the stand. Got the hydraulic brake switch working using both magnets on one...

    Cotroller

Maybe, but it will also totally nuke your battery. If your battery is 25A maximum current you are already severly stressing it. At 60A it may collapse altogether.

    Return to the bent!

Water carrier? I'm watching it not playing, it's safer ! Round about 38v.

    Return to the bent!

Thank Neal. I found the maximum speed was set to 72Kph. It's wierd though, setting it to 25Kph registered as around 12Mph on full throttle. Anyway, I've now got it giving 16-17Mph full throttle, on the stand. I'll need to find maximum current later. Have now extended pas and contol button...

    Return to the bent!

Either I'm a genius or they've changed something. Set C1 to 07 and away ya go, pas working - I thank you ! However, on the stand, the motor does seem to be giving me 25mph max, no way of verifying this, it's just what the display is saying. Wheel size is set to 26". Anyone know how to change...

    Return to the bent!

Well it's a lash up just to prove wiring and lengths/positioning. I've had to extend pas wires (not looking good is it?) and I'll have to extend contol button wires.

    Return to the bent!

Oh crap! Ok, I'll give it a go and let you know. Unfortunately it was the only one that looked like it was going to fit. I still have the previous Dillinger one with two part disc - perhaps it'll end up getting adapted.

    Return to the bent!

Here's the bike on the stand in lash up mode: The observant may spot that I've used 'girly' Wago 221 connectors - they're only temporary - honest. So far it's working on throttle but not pas. Because I have a KT-V12L sensor the c1 needs to be set to 07. Currently struggling to follow the...

    Return to the bent!

Wheel's now finished. Here's a picture of it alongside the one that's come out: Out of curiosity I weighed them both. The DD wheel is 8Kg+, the geared hub wheel is 5Kg. Not being able to upend the bent, I made a scratch workstand. It did mean that I was fighting gravity putting the...

    Steet machine Suspension fork help

I have 20" Meks front forks on my recumbent. They feel stiff and will only return to full length when the weight is lifted off them. Anyone know about these forks? Found service info for other forks but not these. Are they all the same? Tried adjusting preload and fast/slow but to no avail. I...

    Hello everyone

The best format for commutting is a hub motor. Just about bullet proof and less drive train maintenance than a mid drive. Best bonus is, they're cheaper. Most expensive element is the battery, but don't skimp on it, buy the best/largest you can afford. If you like your current bike a kit...

    Return to the bent!

Thought I was dead clever ordering tyre, tube, rim tape and cassette all from one supplier so avoiding delivery charges - forgot the bloody disc didn't I.

    Return to the bent!

I am immensely chuffed to have built my first, apparently, concentric and true wheel and just to proove that it happened: And here it is on the scratch built truing stand in concentricity mode, 'cos ya can't really turn a bent on it's back !: Of course it's only now that I realise I haven't...

Do police even bother to check if an e-bike is legal?

And they're all illegal. Seems to me that the police, responding to public pressure, are starting to take notice and action, so I think you've done the right thing. 'Course if you lived where I do, very rural west Wales, the only time you see a police car is when they're in a blue light hurry -...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

Thing is mate, if it's got a manufacturers sticker on it, it's legal. How do you test for maximum continuous power other than by running it at said power to see if it overheats. If it doesn't it's OK. We/I didn't make the stupid rules we just have to show compliance. I've just used a wizzy...

    Return to the bent!

Me spokes have arrived and me nipples are soakin in oil. (Stopiiit!) Realised I was short of a square driver, but I've found a red rawlplug fits nicely over the nipple top nut and passes through the inner wall of the rim. Let the adventure begin.

    Light e bike review

Could it be that the torque system (whilst claimed to have a more 'Natural' feel by many), when ridden in direct comparison with a pas hub, actually doesn't give as much of the bionic legs feel? Intuitivly rack batteries look more able to be replaced should the need arise.

    Light e bike review

In an electric bike, weight is not the problem it is in analogue bikes. You have electric assistance to help you overcome it. In general, the bigger the battery the more range and the less strain on the battery equating to longer life. Of course this means a heavier bike. Throttle only on an...

    Return to the bent!

True but it's a black rim, motor and cassette which will show up my bright yellow cycling jacket quite nicely methinks.
