    Help! Freewheel axle

Just trying to use what parts I have. I am probably going to loose a lot of money (a lot for me) when selling this. I bought it thinking it would relieve the neck and shoulder strain I get sometimes. Fitting swept back riser bars has helped a lot but it still occurs. Sure enough the recumbent...

    Help! Freewheel axle

Thanks Saneagle It's a bolt on disc wheel. The bike came to me with Dillenger rear hub, I fitted the AKM. So, as far as I know, it's a 145mm. It's a full sus recumbent with 26" rear wheel, so the chainstay and down tube ( though it's only around 30degrees to the chain stay), are quite short...

    Help! Freewheel axle

Thanks Sturmey. I notoce it says 135mm OLN (I don't know what OLN means. My dropouts are 145mm (I know 'cos I fitted the AKM motor), will this wheel fit?

    Help! Freewheel axle

I have a recumbent that I need to sell. it currently has an AKM rear hub but I want to return it to analogue to sell it. So I am looking for a freewheel (7 speed) hub, so I can build a 26" wheel around it, to return the bike to standaed for sale. Every time I search for freewheel hubs I am...

    Torque Arms.

Go to the Hammer bike site. I'm fairly sure they do a 14mm one. In fact, here it is: https://www.hammer-ebikes.com/store/p_2406488/heavy-duty-14x10mm-rear-torque-arm

    Ebike News

Whilst having sympathy for the fella and his family, What the hell does his death have to do with the bike being an eapc? Once again the Mail screams inaccuracy to the ignorant. Can't read the article 'cos of the paywall, but the headline contains enough bias and sloppy phrasing to know it's the...

Cheaper China e-bikes 'kick in teeth' for UK firms

Maybe. But who's checking and against what criteria? Yeaterday whilst out in Lampeter, I saw an older chap on a 20" wheel fat tyred bike (with shopping on the rack) making no attempt at all at pedalling. He didn't look like the kind of bloke who would knowingly break the law and I suspect he'd...

    Ebike Regulations Corrected

As my bike is a conversion done in 2014 ( I have purchase receipts for the bike and the kit), does that mean the twist and go throttle is 'outside of the scope of these regulations' and therefore grudgingly permitted by omission? i.e. Grandfather rights? To be honest the chances of me being...

DFT consultation on increase of 250W limit to 500W

Yet through it all is the elephant in the room contradiction of e-scooters. First there's the illegal to use on the road privately owned verses legal publicly hired thing. I'll just park that one ! One thing for sure is that in no way is a scooter electrically assisted - it is difinitlvely...

    Uk Ebike manufacturers

I do. I took my test on my dad's Honda c50 'cos my beloved Enfield 250GT had been stolen. The c50 had quircky leading link front suspension meaning that, as you braked, the forks rose up and over the axle. Under heavy braking the front wheel would judder/skip down the road. This is exactly...

    Help! Control problems.

For clarity and to help things along. The device on the handlebars is the display. The controller is elsewhere on the bike. The display, the motor, the battery and any other items (pas, brake switches etc.) will all be connected to the controller. So follow all the cables and you will find...

    Spoke Calculations

I used the link below as reference. There are easy to follow videos from measuring up to how to actually build your wheel. It made life easy. https://ebikes.ca/learn/wheel-build.html

TONIGHT 9pm: - E-Bikes: The Battle for Our Streets - Panorama

15.5mph limit is an absolute, or at least it should be. Problem is, how do you actually measure it? As pointed out before, any speed measuring device on a bike is actually a rev counter deriving speed from revs via a calculation including wheel size. Wheel sizes, as we all know, are...

TONIGHT 9pm: - E-Bikes: The Battle for Our Streets - Panorama

The program focused on pedestrians being hit by bikes in pedestrian areas and on pavements. This is not the fault of powered bikes but one of errant behaviour by riders. Regulating (or indeed banning eapc's) will not solve the problem of people who act anti socially and with no regard to...

    Ebike News

If those headline usage figures are correct (I would question how the data was arrived at), it's no wonder London fire brigade reports so many bike fires. Where I live it'd be a struggle to see 2,800 journeys a year. (Perhaps a slight exageration) So, as mentioned earlier, it's a matter of...

    Ebike motor vibrating

This kind of vibration will convince that it has a mechanical cause. But, as Saneagle says, it is almost certainly electrical. I know, I've been there. I ignored Saneagle until I had tried everything else - then I listened and cured it when I found a melted connection. The motor has 3 phase...

Lithium - so called - generators

Having just lived through a 72hour+ powercut I am looking at portable batteries, possibly self charging i.e. solar. We were on the edge of loosing two freezers full of summer garden produce and a whole locally bought lamb. Juries still out as to whether anything is actually ruined. As I...
