    Chainring swap advice needed

Been there, tried it. You'll probably find it's cheaper to buy a complete crank set. I know, crazy !

Well, after much tutting and wtf, I finally got there. I'd love to show you the result but I've already expanded my computer skills enormously and I'm not sure I can take any more ! Thanks for the tutorials Guerny.

    Applying Stickers to Hub Motor

Jeez, if that's the requirement we're all stuffed. Suspect it may be a piece of european over thought flummery. Clue is, at the start, it refers to EPAC (is that electric pedal assited cycle?) , I believe in this country it's EAPC (electric assisted pedal cycle), which is totally different. If...

    Applying Stickers to Hub Motor

I also used an HP laser printer. No problems. My difficulty was not being able to replicate the CE and UK CA fonts. Anyone got a pointer?

    Fitting yose power

After many years of riding an Ezee powered bike , that has speed control, here's my take. Setting one gives around 6mph - too fast for walk assist but too slow to be useful anywhere but packed pedestrian areas where one probably shouldn't be riding anyway. Setting 2 gives 11-12mph. I find...

    Battery Fires

At least on the ship they were able to seal the compartment to flood with inert gas. Couldn't do that in the chunnel, people sit in their cars for the duration of the journey don't they? How about a multi story car park? Seems to me that this technology has not been fully through yet. A petrol...

    Pedal sensor spoof

It'll be interesting to see what the 'switch' is. Obviously a physical switch would be illegal . I suggest an iris scanner which will operate the device for a programmed time when you look directly at it:cool:. Just be careful where you look when you are pulled over.

    More Seizures

Once took my van for mot and the speedo was intermittant. Was informed by the mechanic that it wasn't a problem as it's not part of the mot. Who'da thunk? Both the vans in our houshold (Boxer and a Vivaro) have speedo's that consistantly read 5mph over what's being done, measured...

    More Seizures

Eh?? So, my bike has an led display. The only speedo is a Cateye cycle computer which must be really accurate ! Is lifting the motor wheel really the only way they are going to test for speed?

Are all Trioblade e-bikes the same

I agree. Bikes like that shout, 'I'm an unregistered motor bike, please stop me'. Saw a similar thing on Lampeter high street a couple of weeks ago. The guy was really pushing his luck 'cos he was going up an incline without pedaling!

    Disc rotor bolts

No wonder my bit set has so many mysterious never used hex drive bits in it. And still there are times when nothing is the right size

    Motor Number

So, what I need is a label stating max. continuous rated power (250W) and voltage Motor supplied as 36v) and suppliers name (TBK) and the kit is legal and good to go, so long as max. speed is set right? As it will be a conversion does the bike itself have to be labelled? - I know, here we go...

    Motor Number

I have an AKM motor that has a number etched/stamped on it. Is there anything in the number that denotes it's continuous rating? AKM23032901002 BBA4816B

    Help! Sudoo or soodoo

Many, including myself, have used Topbikekit. Here is the 9 mosfet controller referred to earlier in the thread. https://www.topbikekit.com/t09s-36v48v500w-22a-kt-sine-wave-controller-for-ebike-p-734.html?zenid=vnh7d134fd328igof37reu9j67 It has the block connectors as recommended. It is sine...

Met Police officers receive training to identify non-compliant e-bikes

'Sfunny how memory plays tricks ain't it? Having just looked it up, my Ezee kit was first put on a bike mid to late 2015 and that was a different bike to the current one. So, all in all I'm starting to think it's time for a new kit (can use the same batteries), maybe a new bike if I can find...

Met Police officers receive training to identify non-compliant e-bikes

Fortunately my bike looks nothing like any of those pictured in the pdf. It's good to see that officers are being made aware of the 2016 law change, now I've got to go and find the 2014 receipt for my bike and the kit. My remaining concern is that the Ezee motor has no markings on it at all.

    Easier Gear Shifter

Quick shakedown ride to the village shop (bacon sarnies for lunch). Brake switch cuts the motor just before the brake bite point, phew 'cos there's no adjustment. Initially brake lever feel was very hard but the new pads seem to be bedding in nicely. Changer works a dream, indexing is fine...
