Pedalling, cadence, gears and assist levels

just tried 9 levels on a 14 mile ride, mix of hills, road and canal towpath. I tried to use the 9 to economise on power needed, with some success and without too much fiddling. Same as using the old front changer really. I'll try it for a bit longer. Just ordered a new freewheel and sprockets...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Well, while I would be sad if the pro cycling stuff failed, I'd be happy to see them go. Well, when I say Happy, that really doesn't do it justice. :D

Pedalling, cadence, gears and assist levels

For years I've been in the habit of pushing a big gear slowly, using the 21 gears as needed, rather than regular cadence and using the gears that way. I have read a little on cadence pedalling but never really learned it. So now I have 7speed rear block,3, 5 or 9 assist levels, currently 5...

It will also increase the property value. With the green homes incentive you only have to find 1/3. With solar being as cheap as it is now and interest rates low it probably makes sense to borrow a couple of grand and throw it at the roof.

You'll be awaiting Elon's next model with drooling chin then, the Tesla Trollster. Have you a bridge to park under? ;)

AFAIK the fit tariff has dropped in proportion to the cost. They are maybe half the price and more efficient. I may be wrong, not looked for a while. It's not just monetary worth though, it's helping stop global warming. The new green home deal due September is £5k per house, up to 2/3 of the...

Another reason to visit Barnard Castle then. Its bad driving by car drivers that needs controlling then.

The cost benefit isn't as simple as it appears, there's also the difference / cost of global warming in the longer term to take into account. I have 2.4kwh of solar, installed when the fit scheme started. Costs were twice what they are now, fit was higher. They've now paid for themselves and are...

    Silly mistake.

An Update, IT'S WORKING. :D :D:D Did the tests - charger charging, tested outputs 40.7v, put it on bike, display powered up. Although I only did a brief short with the key the display had powered off. Is there a "wait a bit while it cools down" gubbins somewhere? The display must have been...

    Silly mistake.

OK, thanks. To clarify - The jst wires are the thin white ones from each battery bank to the white plug? Or are you talking about the temperature sensor? The bms I found didn't have one visible, not to say there aren't connections on the pcb. Do all bms pcbs have temperature connections? I'd...

    Silly mistake.

Will do, charge indicator lights up. But there is no fuse, see pics. There's an obvious blade fuse holder in those videos, the wires from charger socket go straight to the bms on mine. The display unit came on very briefly then went off. On our narrowboat tonight, near home though. Will have a...

    Silly mistake.

I have no problem really, I do enjoy a bit of banter, there's always one or several on any forum who do snipe and pick though. I don't take it to heart :)

    Silly mistake.

Thanks @Woosh , I'll ring sometime this week. There's no sign of any fuse in the battery case. As for the doubting Thomases, done lots of general wiring over the years, houses, cars, completely wired my narrowboat, that's got 450ah batteries and a 135w mppt solar setup. I'm still here. Red is...

    Silly mistake.

Thanks for the advice. Filed in the round and deep pending tray. The mistake was not putting the rubber bung in the charging port. The other mistake is not fitting a fuse in the first place. That wasn't me.
