    Inner tubes

I carry a spare tube and a few skab type patches, not as good as proper glue on but quicker and keeps you riding (OK while inflated but don’t do so well left on a deflated tube kept as your spare) I wouldn’t routinely replace a tube unless it was unpatchable. I think most tubes work as well as...

    Drive Train

If my memory serves, on one of the many tv gadget type shows there was a shootout between several Human powered machines, One was a treadmill on wheels, as you walk the Belt moves and turns a generator that then powers a motor to drive the wheels. An interesting project But lacking in any detail...

Lidl saddles (wittkop Medicus) gel or foam

What a plonker (that’s me) turns out I had one of each with realising, the memory foam one has covered about 2,000 miles and still looks and feels good. The gel on the other hand has been on several bikes and must have done at least 4,000 miles. On close inspection the gel must be braking down...

Speed Pedelecs General Discussion thread name change!

Just pulling your chain ;):D tbh I don’t know if the forum moderators would support a section that openly condone law breaking in its title, it needs to be subtle

Front sprocket detached from crankset - Why? Has it happened to anyone else?

Just to clarify things, I am reasonably knowledgable with an above average amount of mechanical sympathy so it’s not the subject that I don’t care about, it’s you on your soapbox, you won’t be happy until everyone rides a hub motored bike and is capable and willing to do all of there own...

Front sprocket detached from crankset - Why? Has it happened to anyone else?

Front sprocket detached from crankset - Why? Has it happened to anyone else?

Anybody here had to walk home through a drive train failure. ? Personally in nearly 50 years of cycling I’ve only had one chain brake and that was on a non E mtb. I’ve had no problems with the 3 E-mtb’s I’ve owned.

Front sprocket detached from crankset - Why? Has it happened to anyone else?

“Mechanically, mid motor bikes are designed for countries like Holland, with basically no hills” seriously, I think a lot of people here would disagree, along with all the e-mtb manufacturer's

    backache

Are saddle stools good for your back? Iv used one at work, I started by using it just for an hour at a time because it forces you to use you back muscles a lot more than normal and that in itself can give you back ache. Before the lockdown I was using it for half a day every 2nd or 3rd day. this...
