Member of Parliament goes to work on an electric bike

Now if you could get Alastair Darling riding one on the grounds that it promotes the 'green economy', that would be something...go on David, it's got to be worth an email :D .

Member of Parliament goes to work on an electric bike

Or rather Defence Secratary ;) He'd have to invent a new regiment - 'The Light Panasonic Mounted Brigade' (range 20 miles) :D Only kidding Flecc!

Hey - why don't we start our own party...:D We could use the strap line "The Wispering people are getting LOUDER!" ,oh no - that's been used before hasn't it? :D .

    Tyre blow out. Cause?

In the interests of balance (pardon the pun), I've done 1500 miles on the original set of kenda tyres, and had no punctures whatsoever. Wether this makes me lucky, or you guys unlucky, is a subject for conjecture, or maybe David has some hard data about the number of bikes sold vs complaints...

    Optibike 2009

Then how does it work with the 15.5mph asisted speed limit, and the 250w power limitaion? As it's technicaly still a pedelec, it gets my vote as a subject for discussion.

    Optibike 2009

Well pardon me for wanting to come to my own conclusions :D, as a free thinking individual, living in a mostly free society....etc etc. :) As I've said before, I believe that any evolution/abbaration in the field deserves attention, as it encourages innovation, and hopefuly a culture of...

    Optibike 2009

What an extraordinary piece of design! I suppose you'd need a scooter licence to ride it on the road, along with type approval, insurance etc. Still, it's nice to see some progressive thinking in the e-bike world, this along with machines such as the forthcomming Wisper 906, make the future seem...

    Cyclist critical after attack

I fear this is evidence of the 'lost generation' Alistair Darling was refering to when interviewed yesterday about the growing number of young adults neither in training/education or employment. Having lived in London for the best part of 20yrs, I've frequently seen kids who're obviously out...

What do you think of Jazz music?

SO - just me then....... "Jazz is not dead - it just smells funny.." (Frank Zappa - bless him  )

    Pedelecs or Pure Power?

Hi Winterdog, that's why I've taken to leaving it in low asist mode and then just using the throttle to modulate the power. I too spent months not quite being satisfied with the distraction of switching between modes, when I finally remembered to try it the other way it was something of a...

    Pedelecs or Pure Power?

Well, it's kind of like Jazz - all a matter of personal taste :D Personally I started out using mainly pedelec, but with greater experience, and advice from here, now mostly prefer the finer control of throttle + minimal pedal assist. I have a Wisper 905se BTW.

What do you think of Jazz music?

Miles Davis - suggest 'Kind of Blue' as an introduction. Frank Zappa - suggest 'Hot Rats', it's about as gentle as he gets/got, after that I think his best stuff is in the live reccordings, particularly 'The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life'. Chopin - arguably a jazz artist way ahead...

    Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bike

Fantastic - I like the tyres on the thing too, doubt you'd ever get a puncture with those :) Now I wonder how much BOC charge for a tank of gas, as unless you live in California, it's a long ride to the 'local' filling station :D Seroiusly though it'd be intersting to get some specs re...

I'm buying a second hand wisper eco

Some time ago I raised the question about the connection change with Wisper, and David assured me that they have a large stock of the old battery cases, and so will be able to supply batteries for the 2008 spec bikes for years to come. He said they were also looking into the possibility of...

    Wisper 705SE or Kalkhoff Tasman?

It's a great feeling when you open it up isn't it :D Particularly if you (accidentaly of course) nudge the green button ;).
