    £300 budget for kit improvement

thanks d8veh but my 8fun is sensorless only motor (3 pins) - this wont play nicely with that will it ? Also the BB torque sensor wont fit my bike. Not really an issue if this has an indepadnt throttle - thats what I use all the time anyway. Finally - not sure what this means "2. It only...

Tyre pressures turned my bike into a boneshaker

You can make a rough assumption that having tyres at less than minimum psi will lead to increased chances of pinch flats and the sidewalls of your tyres not lasting as long as they otherwise would.

    problems with 8 fun

That's the issue there I believe. The battery voltage has dropped below the low voltage cuttoff (which is likely 30v ish) When you plug the charger in does the light just stay green ? Presumably so in which case the voltage has dropped too far down for the BMS Is it still under warranty ? If...

    Accucell 6 slow charging?

Didn't realise they were near full - your right, the taper charge at the end can be painfully slow

Best Way to Hard Wire a Light

D8veh - I though the light needed to be on it's own circuit to the main battery . If you link to positive and negative battery wires that power the controller then won't the light then have the varying amps running through it ? Ie whatever amps the motor is pulling at the time ?

    Accucell 6 slow charging?

I think charging at 6a will significantly reduce life expectancy of the cells . Prob best to keep under 3a if you care about such things !

    Accucell 6 slow charging?

I'll wager the issue is your power supply. You cannot expect, for example, a12v 5a psu to charge a 22,2v battery at 6a. You need to consider the voltage as well as amps of psu as the charger can, in effect, convert one to the other From memory the accucel 6 can take up to 18v psu so to charge...

What do you carry in your repair kit?

I have no frame of reference I'm afraid ! I've never owned a gas powered iron before I can tell you I reckon I've had a total of between 45 mins and 90mins of runtime out of it so far over about 5 or 6 different occasions

    Hobbyking 6S 16ah Lipo packs

I should add I have had a bad experience with that eBay seller . Fake Panasonic 18650 cells that lasted a week . I now use old, used, recycled laptop cells that usually last at least 6 months of daily abuse. And are free !

What do you carry in your repair kit?

Today I hit a big pothole and my homemade 18650 booster battery (in saddle bag) fell off, hit the road and broke a internal connection Long story short the aldi 15 quid gas soldering iron came to the rescue and I could repair at work in the car park I have to carry a backpack on my commute -...

    LED Strips

That works just fine too - at least it did with mine but I went with pp3 on a size basis . - it's just a small, easily available box with a switch - hardly bigger than battery. 18650 lasted far longer and a bit brighter but couldn't be mounted directly on the mudguard which is what I wanted...
