    Never-tackle-an-e-bike-battery-fire-yourself-warns-fire-brigade-after-another-blaze

After somebody posting here (and watching a ridiculous number of youtube videos where people had caused battery explosions and tried using different containers) I got an old ammo box (and stripped off the rubber seal so it wasn't airtight) https://preppersshop.co.uk/military-storage-411-c.asp

    Crank drive engine life

From posts here I think there used to be a lot of problems with the built in controllers on Bafang BBS01 /02 s Not sure, but not heard of problems with recent versions. For kit bikes you are potentially putting a lot more power through the chain drive / rear cassette than a human could possibly...

Seeking Advice on Affordable Ebike for 20-Mile Daily Commute (£500-£600 = Budget)

Yes, there's quite a lot of youtube reviews (where the reviewer has been given the bike) . Also found this review quite helpful https://en.gizchina.it/2022/12/recensione-eleglide-citycrosser-bici-elettrica-economica/ with some pros and cons The one area that would be a concern is customer...

    Wisper 705 assistance levels

That's gone up ! We got it from Winstanley's but it has gone up over £100 from earlier in the year - the best I could find was here but that's still £100 more If you were very adventurous you could possibly buy a separate battery cheaper, but the controller is within the battery holder so it...

Seeking Advice on Affordable Ebike for 20-Mile Daily Commute (£500-£600 = Budget)

I think eleglide has been mentioned before as ok https://www.electricscooterslondon.com/products/eleglide-citycrosser-electric-bike For £100 more this seems a lot better spec, hydraulic brakes, much more powerful motor and a lot bigger battery...

    Brake Sensors

Just fitted a hydraulic brake sensor to my BBS02B bike - this technique works great - dabbing the brake lever to stop the motor (without going far enough to engage the brakes) to change up to the 11t ring on the rear cassette or changing down gears up a steep hill - no crunching to be heard.

before getting a folding MiRide as a fat 6ft 4ins man, is there something cheaper or better?

"..Suitable for riders between 4’6″ and 6’6″!.." https://wisperbikes.com/shop/e-bikes/step-through-ebikes/wisper-806-folding-electric-bike-2020/ Has 20" wheels which I would see as a big advantage or "suitable for average riders 5ft2 to 6ft, up to 17 stone, Seatpost: 31.6mm diameter, your...

48v hub drive bike - (not UK legal)

I'm intrigued by this one, was it built with a specific purpose ? is that the same Rocky Mountain that you are planning your road trip with ? What are the specs of the two hub motors ? The red / white and black "panels" - did you fabricate and paint them yourself ? Presumably there is a...
