The one thing you needed with a Reliant ( you all assumed I meant three wheelers, they built Scimitar and thousands of London taxi cabs) was a sense of humour, not sure how d8 coped.. To describe Reliant 3 wherlers as a good car, well sorry, but they just weren,t.. They were actually very...

Only the ones light enough to be picked up and thrown over wall can be dealt with here, so not that many are upcycled here. Most have to go up the slight hill just behind this facility. Don't worry though there is help available to get to top..( big smilie) Like the old Reliant ( insert...

I phoned dealer, he reckoned mine were tubless ready so next week.. To be fair not really had any issues but lowest I,ve run in tyres was 25 psi.. Went up here this morning... About limit for pair of us.( me and bike) Lady Bower was stunning tho...keep riding other spots but always end up back...

Stunning trip around Lady Bower this morning..got there 8 ish..24 miles. Average 7.9 mph..couple of massive climbs , one turned out a dead end ( the stone gravel path lead to a no go area for mtb , horrible deep rutted / muddy path so came back down...) Great ride tho.. Not sure this is in right...

Failed on my first big hill

Yes my childhood was spent watching Sammy Miller and Martin Lampkin, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. Built my first " replica" dot when I was 13...64 tooth backsprocket, alloy fuel tank and a 3 speed Villiers 197 ( think 9e).. Loved it..had to carry 3 spare spark plugs everywhere...if it...

Failed on my first big hill

David I didn't say you said it was same. Your google listing says " a real alternative to Bosch" , suggesting its for same target audience... Yes your bike is a great bike in its own right, but ( in my opinion) suggesting it as an alternative to Bosch CD misses good points of both bikes...

Well that's why we are continually disagreeing. ( smilie)... Not sure you are correct about the average buyer now. Suspect the demographic is changing..would be interesting to see recent sales figures, not long ago ebike mtb was very much a minority...seeing more and more in peaks and saw loads...

Failed on my first big hill

Where on earth do I put 3 batteries going up Mam Tor..( and no not there). Posted it before but couple of weeks ago cycled up Pico Neulous, represented a vertical climb of 3800 ft.. Average speed 7.2 mph, Time to top 1hr 50..On a single 400wh battery..All off road, over shingle, rocks, boulders...

Failed on my first big hill

Yep I think it relates to keeping motor spinning around 2000rpm...right in its peak efficiency... Other thing is when going very slowly in lower gears pedal pressure is low which corresponds to low current supplied, but with low gearing of motor its enough to help...

Failed on my first big hill

I,ve had a knee replaced in right leg. Struggle pressing hard enough for ordinary cycling, its not an issue on CD...I,m ok with higher cadence but surgeon insists.. no standing on pedals. no great pressure on pedals Keep cadence between 40 and 80 on lightish loads.. Yam CD absolutely perfect.

Where,s your evidence for that Flecc?? On the torque of motors issue. My system claims 80nm at crank...the rider then decides what he,s doing with it... Even if figure is 20% exaggerated its a lot of torque..

And operating under way higher gear ratio when climbing. Power density of high revving motors is better than heavier low revving ones..
