That's really good of you. Thanks. You didn't have to, I do tend to annoy folk, wife calls me far worse and never apologises. Besides, reading my post....it was deserved. So my apologies too. Oh and I really owe d8 a bigger apology...my response to you was in response to Dan,s comment...sort...

Failed on my first big hill

There,s a lot of confusion over winding choice in dc brushless. Yes it follows same rules as "delta" " wye" as in other none brushless but to a far lesser extent. DC brushless can be manipulated by controller to alter torque characteristics, result is a big overlap. Brushless operate sort of...

Failed on my first big hill

Yep ,I see all that.. Not taking Michael , I will get/beg/borrow/ steal a good hub drive mtb and give it a go. Take care. Would be good to see other folk post about rides..not Starva, but with a view to battery usage/ range/ height gained/ time out. And yes we are getting there..."CD can do...

    Winnats Pass.

Fair point d8vh. Any comparison / test should be side by side and as many things as equal as possible. A few put my bikes abilities down to my pedaling efficiency... I should do Winnats / Pico Neulous/ Mam Tor etc on a hub drive and make a valid comparison. Unfortunately that's not quite...

    Winnats Pass.

I,m not disputing that trex,, never did. Could they compete with the 312w usage ??? That was my point.??? I climbed Winnats easily yesterday, albeit very slowly, ie average 5.2 mph, after 2 previous ascents of Winnats and a 22 mile round trip. All on 400wh batterry and still enough left to have...

    Winnats Pass.

8 minutes was off my watch...if you calculate time from average speed and distance of 1.25 ( half round trip) time is exactly 10 mins.. So its /10... So your 2 nd calc the most accurate.. I,ll take my gps next time.. In reality its at best an estimate of current usage..cant see the % used been a...

    Winnats Pass.

On the battery usage..only a rough estimate but Used 13% on fastest time which as it turns out was exactly 10 mins. 13% of 400 is 52..( its a 400wh battery) So usage was 6 x 52...giving 312 My highest figure.. I know this is not absolutely spot on but as a guide means I averaged 312 w or there...

Failed on my first big hill

Mmmm...on reflection that is rather a sweeping arrogant opinion...apologies.. You are absolutely right, I should have said with respect to the ones I have tried...In my defence I had already taken some stick... Think other point is I am only ever speaking about mtb, very rarely do I actually go...

    Winnats Pass.

Never actually pedalled up Winnats , normally stick to off road but thought I,d give bike and me a try at it. Parked first spot by bottom T junction, assumed section starts here.? Blew tyres up to 45, normally run 30 . Battery on 100%. First Run Didn't really know what to expect so put bike in...

Failed on my first big hill

Artsu There are loads of off road climbs as hard as Winnats around Derbyshire??? Don't get your point ?? Asking for Strava was being sarcastic, so I was back. Try Winn Hill from Yorkshire Bridge...you,ll never find a Strava for it, well not to my knowledge but never look at them anyway. Any...

Failed on my first big hill

So the OP needs either a two speed hub motor or a CD mtb ??? . Perhaps we could all agree on that ?
