    Bergamont E-Ville 500 - covered less than 2 miles

Also, it's not the mileage that is the issue, but how the battery has been cared for and how old is it?

    Running lights via battery

5v sounds like a control signal of some sort, not a light output. You're right though, that plug isn't mentioned anywhere. Hopefully some one who has one will be along soon!

    Results of cycling accident

Obviously the speed differential between vehicle and cyclist dictates the need for protection. That's how. But then we come back to these helmets being tested to 12mph, good luck with that kind of speed differential on a main road. I do see sports cyclists riding fast main roads and dual...

    Mishappened tyre !!!

It's odd this, I've been running Schwalbes for some 7000 miles now with no problems at all. All road riding admiittedly (if you can call some of the lanes round here roads) and often with two panniers full of shopping. The last front one I ran until the blue started to show 'cos I'm a tight...

    Running lights via battery

As AK says, you need to measure the voltage on that plug, and test if it switches via the display unit. However, if it is for lights it's not likely to be 6v.

Anyone know if 10g spokes will fit BMSBattery's 48v 500w rear BPM2 motor

Also they have less ability to flex, so making for a harder ride and possible breaks at the j bend.

Anyone know if 10g spokes will fit BMSBattery's 48v 500w rear BPM2 motor

Some will say that 10g is too stiff and you're heading for breakages. 13g seems to be what's needed, more supple and able to take the strains. whoops, crossed with Tony.

    Magnet adhesive

Don't jump the gun Mike ! That could well be a connection fault. Motors that temporarily loose a phase connection or a hall connection will do exactly what you describe. Check all connections going to the motor.

Advice on Charging Battery When Not In Use

Hibernation or not is down to what make of battery you have. Generally, storing at full votage is not a good idea. Charge it, then put about 10 miles on it. Store it indoors in an unheated room. Ideally repeat every 3 months, might be able to stretch that to 4 months. Don't try to partial...

    better brake system

+1 for Magura HS11. Bit of a handful to fit but instructions are good and, once done and set up, you can pretty much leave them alone.

Conversion kit to match Carrera Vulcan

Hi tpw, as woosh has said torque is a slippery one to get hold of, depends where in the drive train the measurement is taken, at what revs etc. One thing you can be sure of is that the quoted figure will present the best picture from the manufacturers point of view. I have two conversions. One...

    Results of cycling accident

About a year ago I was with the family having a stroll in Aberporth. On a nicely tarmacced flat path we came across a proud Dad with his 3 year old son who was on a sort of scoot it bike, it had no pedals. So the kid was kind of running whilst sitting down. He was having a hoot. Needless to...

So there we are then, only any good if you do a complete 180 over your bars. No good for side impact, impact from vehicle going more than 12mph faster than you, or being crushed by a blind sided truck driver(what were you doing there in the first place?). I honestly think if we're going down...

    Torque

A battery is made up of individual cells, mostly 18650 cells. The 36v is made up (normally) of 10 cells in series. They are approx 3.6v each, so giving the 36v (though this will be 41/42v hot off the charger). Each cell has a rated current that it is capable of delivering without voltage sag...

    Torque

A 30A max controller is asking a lot from any battery. Make sure Jimmy knows the controller specs. https://bga-reworking.co.uk/contact/

    Torque

Hot of the charger, at 30 amps, that's going to give you 1512 watts, not allowing for inefficiecy's. Torque then depends on motor gearing and, when figure is quoted, it's never stated where it's measured. i.e. at the wheel or the motor axle, thereby mostly meaningless. As is the 500w rating of...
