New Member, hoping to convert to an e bike

All hubs (as far as I know) have mounting screws for discs. If you go for a rear hub it's a bit more stealthy than the mid drive. Might be a consideration as e bikes are currently technically illegal in N.I., at least until the assembly can be bothered to get off their arses and do the job the...

    Recommendation for a 250 or 500w ekit

The wattage rating of motors is merely their continuous rating and nothing to do with power consumed or produced. It is merely the power the motor can continuously use without overheating. A 48v controller that is, say, 20A max will deliver 960w nominal on top setting . All kits will come...

    SPOKES FOR 20” Batribike Wheels

There is a school of thought that says that thicker spokes are not a good idea,as they flex less they are more prone to breakage. Counter intuitive, I know, but that's the experience many have had. So better a well made 14 or maybe 13g rather than a cheap 12g.

Any better chargers available for 13s 48 volt packs?

Yes it does, but only when the battery gets to full voltage. So if you were to charge to only 90% there wouldn't be any balancing on that cycle. That's why AK asked the question.

    Vulcan e spec spokes

It's easy to true a rim in frame, done it myself. Turn the bike upside down. Put a cable tie on the frame next to the rim, cut it to length so it just touches the rim at it's closest. Then start to tighten or loosen spokes by a 1/4 turn at a time. Once you get your head round it, it really...

    Battery decision

The first thing is that the voltage of your second battery must match the voltage of the original battery and the control system of the bike. The Amp Hour rating of a battery tells you how many amps a battery will (theoretically) deliver and for how long. So a 10Ah battery will deliver 10A...

    Cycling again after many years

Hi Ian and welcome to the world of the ebike grin:). I think it's the thing that the lycra brigade resent the most, 'cos, apparently, it ain't cycling unless you're grimacing and red faced!

    Website update

There's a vertical string of 9 Ads on the left (they used to be on the right). The Electric Bike Sales one is the worst, with the Juicy one a close second. I think part of it is that they 'flash' at different frequences, so they are out of time with each other. As a drummer it drives me nuts...

    Website update

I too only view on laptop or pc. Starting to find my way around. There are two things that I would ask to be tweaked. The flashing adverts on the left side are very agressive, almost strobe like. Could they be toned down, slower less intense flash? The difference between the bold font (for...

    Battery Life?

Depends on lots of things Sanjay. Quality of cells that make up the battery in the first place. How hard they are worked when in use. Batteries have a specified discharge current rating. If that current (or more) is drawn on a regular basis or for extended periods, it will shorten the battery...

I need some advice on what front forks to buy.

My Carrera has Suntour NCX 63mm forks, I have one torque bracket fixed with some 7000 miles on it now. Before fitting After fitting. Made an F bracket out of 1mm steel, bent the arms to suit caliper mounting posts. Torque arm was one of these...

    Ezee conversion kit advice

I put a hydraulic on the front and kept the standard mech on the back, so just the back brake has the cutout switch. Works fine for me. Not sure about the grease, when I needed some Cyclezee sent me some, but he's retired. Any nhub motor supplier should know. On your original inquiry, I found...

    Ezee conversion kit advice

The rub you speak of is almost certainly dry gears. Mine does it intermittantly. The Ezee motors are easy to strip down, no nasty surprises. Just remove the screws from the face plate and ease it out. You'll need grease suitable for nylon gears. I used Plumbers Mait as a gasket when I put...

Not quite sure what I'm looking at, but isn't that tIt terminates at the two lugs on the frame.
