Just to clarify that which saneagle has touched on in the very last paragraph. A legal power override device can be a so called thumb switch or twist and go switch( non can be regarded as throttles because they don't feather speed ) . Uk law /regs state that power must be pedal first/pedal...

Problem though is there is little policing of e-mopeds disguised as e -pushbikes, I see them often where I live as many other will do in their localeand , users riding with no pedal input , a dinner plate in the rear wheel and riidng at speeds that doesn't shout rider input. #9 there is...

Check the magnet disc is undamaged, attached and spaced correctly. Clean the magnet disc face if the chain has come off and deposited grime over the magnets.

Looking for a decent ebike to buy, on a bit of a 'budget'

One can't have an EAPC with twist and go or speed control device working post 2016 without a V5 certificate , one must only be able to pedal for the bike to move with assisted power. 250w rated motor and 15.5mph assisted cut off speed. Any speed control device aka twist and go or so called...

    E-Bike Motor Problems 36v 250w

KT have no calibration/learn wires so the process isn't needed. The op needs to explain or show exactly the display being used as thye haven't said if they have bough a compatible KT display to work with the KT controller. One can't simply mix and match controllers and displays and hope for the...

The PAS sensor has a Hall sensor with in , it switches on/off (pulses) each time a magnet passes . There will be a magnet disc attached to the Bottom Bracket axle behind the chain wheel. It is the magnets in the disc that need to align and pass the sensor head. The magnet disc it self needs...

14 miles is good Kirstin for 5ah esp for PAS5, I'm seeing 30+ with a 3 year old HG2 6ah pack though that is on a lowly PAS1 on a KT.

Converting this bike with a mid-drive motor for climbing hills - I have questions!

Walk assist current will depend on the controller used but suspect 2a or 3a isn't far off.

Generic speed control devices are on/ off with nil speed control between, one get max power all the time. Signal wire has about 1v on it and is simply activated by a magnet. PAS setting has no effect on how the speed control device works.

The clue is in the forum name, ie Pedelecs . A pedelec is a 250w push bike that adheres to UK regs. A 1500/2000w conversion is a moped come motorbike as defined by DVLA .

48 volt battery or 36 volt battery

Instead of confusing some posters (who maybe uncertain of your actions) by saying 72v one isn't expressing correctly the right detail. Some may see this or take this as in series rather then in parallel which one is doing. One simply should be saying one is paralleling two or three batteries...

Converting this bike with a mid-drive motor for climbing hills - I have questions!

Fwiw walk assist is just that it doesn't deliver high current to be used for hill climbing , enough current is gently supplied to enable to walk/giude abike at 4mph walking pace.

    Noisy front wheel

Show us a pic of the wheel . If it isn't brakes or mudguard rubbing check for debris between tyre and under side of mudguard. Otherwise check the wheel hub rotation for coarseness or side to side play.

New old boy with a question regarding Quick Release wheel

Any bike once it has an E in it should really have disc brakes , rims eventually will wear thru with the extra force needed to brake . Several of us have been banging on about KT's for years now and slowly a few bitten the bullet and are in agreeance of how good they are .
