Time to buy a new e-bike

Rest assured that the 45cm (26" wheel) Agattu and Sahel Compact are both suitable for 5' 2" riders although a shorter seat post is often required. We hire both these bikes to shorter riders.

    Torque Sensor bike with Panieers?

Last year's Kalkhoff Agattu if you want a step thru or the Sahel NuVinci Harmony if you want a crossbar. Both exceptional value at the moment.

How fast do you go downhills

Just topped 51 mph the other day. We have big hills round here in North Devon. You have to tuck down low to go faster than about 35 mph. Still seems pretty stable on the Sahel Compact. Good brakes also gives some confidence. On my Brompton, slower speeds seem much quicker and the brakes are...

Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S11 Alfine questions

I can tell you that the Kalkhoff hub geared bikes definitely have a wider gauge chain. Also note, the Impulse 2 motor has a new 'shift assist' feature that cuts the motor for an instant as you change gear.

Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S11 Alfine questions

The Impulse Ergo is the same Impulse motor fitted with a heart monitor that alters the automatic NuVinci Harmony gears and motor output to maintain a user input heart rate.

Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S11 Alfine questions

The Impulse 2 is the 2014 version of the Impulse crank drive rated at 250w. The is fitted to many Kalkhoff bikes, usually with a 17Ah battery that can take you up to 125 miles (in eco mode on the flat). The Impulse 2 Speed is the 350w unit or German 'S' class motor. With the same battery it...

    E1+ Electric Scooter

Thanks. Would the fuse be in the battery pack somewhere? I do have a multimeter but I have never used it and would't really know how to.

    E1+ Electric Scooter

A friend of mine got one of these a couple of years ago and all was well for the first year or so. However, about a year ago, it stopped working. Although the battery seemed to charge ok, the motor just didn't do anything. The company that he bought it from seems to have been liquidated so no...

    Hello everybody

That's a new bike to the Kalkhoff range that 50Cycles sell but with the familiar Impulse motor (now in version 2). Which Tasman is it, the green one? I like the look of the Classic.

Well, I have just gone and done it - Kalkhoff BS10 ordered today

Both X24 and Wisper are great bikes (I have both). The X24 is much sportier feeling but in this version less range. Having said that I find 40 real life miles (hilly rides) is quite achievable on the XT. Have you had a chance to ride either or both?

Well, I have just gone and done it - Kalkhoff BS10 ordered today

I'm sure you'll be very happy with the BS10. As you reported, I have found that many people like the more sporty feel of the X24 (Xion hub), I think this is at least partly to do with the derailleur gears feeling more sporty than the hub gears (and the hub gears being rather too lowly geared...

In Danger of going over to Dark Side

I must say the Marin Larkspur was my favourite hybrid when I was looking for a bike 4 or 5 years ago. I'd certainly buy one at that price, you got a bargain.

    My new bike

I really like the MH-7 and it was a toss up between this and the Kalkhoff Sahel Compacts that I bought in the end. They are very similar bikes and very comfortable. As with most Kalkhoffs, the bigger / longer lasting battery was a big factor for me as the bikes were / are used for longish rides...

    hi everyone from leek

Woosh are probably cheapest as they sell direct. Juicy offer good mix of product and local dealer support (based close to you). Given your position I'd go for a Juicy Bike.

    hi from Cork in Ireland

I like the look of the bike and the word is that it goes some. I was told the range may be a bit limited if you use the power so it may not be ideal for touring - I guess it depends on how much work you do and how little you use the power. Be interested to hear how you find it when it arrives.

    Car failed, ebike didn't

What do you make of the Joule Prism, a good ride? They're based quite near me and they are shall we say 'distinctive' in appearance.
