    working it out!

The Panasonic hub is powerful but has very limited range. If you want a large battery the Kalkhoffs are probably your best bet. No dongles for the Impulse but there are ways of increasing the cut-off speed (can't go into this on the forum).

    Best warranty

I have ridden the Smarta and it is a pretty good bike amongst the far east import offering. The Electric Transport Shop I have found to be very good to deal with. The battery on this bike is only 9Ah which is quite a limited capacity - I wouldn't bank on it covering 40 miles. The 4 year battery...

    Best warranty

The Kalkhoff (Impulse) batteries have the same management system / sleep mode as the Panasonic (according to the manual). Of course, they have only been around for about 2 years so there is less proven history as yet.

Anyone has experience with Cargo Bikes?

It's a great bike. I saw someone part way through a European tour with one last year. His was non-electric but kitted up with a sound system and dynamo to power it - they were doing storytelling workshops. Looked great.

    Beat Bikes Where Are You?

I exchanged emails with Dean Stennet today after reading this post as I have a demo Beatbike for people to try out in the southwest. He assures me they are doing well and hopefully he will be along on here to update this thread.

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

Trip up to Bristol this weekend. Saturday saw us ride to Bath and seek out the new mile long tunnel near Midford. Total ride from Leigh Woods was about 45 miles. We took our Bromptons so there was room left for us to sleep in the van. A few pictures attached that show Clifton Bridge, outside the...

    Xion drive motor drag.

As has been posted already, the 'regen' feature can be turned off completely using the settings menu on the handlebar display unit (which I have done because I don't like it). I would agree with oldtom that the drag isn't that noticeable on the Pro Connect (I think that gryffe1974 has a Focus...

    Endeavour Impulse S11 Alfine

On full power, depending on the weight you / the bike is carrying I would guess between 30 and 50 miles would be realistic.

Donor Bike for a new e-bike Conversion

Well I can only go on my experience. Used pretty much daily for over a year, come rain or shine - over 2500 miles - up and down many 20% gradient hills and they still work great without any adjustment.

Donor Bike for a new e-bike Conversion

Concerning hybrid bikes, when I was testing a few a couple of years ago I particularly liked Marin bikes (Larkspur was my favourite) and of course they do loads of mountain bikes too. Globe (Specialised) bikes are generally a bit cheaper (which is why I bought one but I was always a bit...

Anyone has experience with Cargo Bikes?

Reise & Muller do a couple of cargo bikes. Very nice looking but rather expensive. The Blue Label Transporter is cheaper but the Load (at this link) is more interesting.

    Thoughts/Opinions on this bike

The Cube looks a good value bike at that price. Cube electric bikes are quite new to the UK so few reviews available but one would expect them to be pretty solid given Cube's reputation. Another excellent value bike at the moment is the Pro Connect Xion X24. A great commuter bike with good spec...

    Problems getting Giant Roam ebikes

If you get impatient with waiting and feel in need of getting out, you can come up for a ride on our Kalkhoffs in north Devon. Tomorrow is forecast to be dry. Check out our bikes at www.bikehigher.co.uk. This is not a sales pitch - just an offer of a free ride.

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

Indeed, the Brommie's even a bit sketchy on a wet road! Thinking of getting a Focus Jarifa or a KTM e-Race P for demo purposes.
