    Hello enlightened ones...

50 mins is a good time for 15 miles. Disk breaks are the business. Avid are I believe the standard but the mounting on the forks could be difficult. It's the front that provides the most breaking so rim on the rear is ok. And please respect the Lycra boys who have earned it.

Inexpensive 1000+ LM headlamp bike light?

The 5,000 lux light is too bright for general use. It is like full beam on a car and is overkill for cycling at 20 mph. Less is usable without becoming offensive to other road users. It is a stonking light though.

Here I am about to suggest something unexpected. Try a recumbent. It's 20 mins of terror and a few months to adapt but then it is more mph for the same sweat. If you assisted it the up hills would still be 15 but down and on the flat would be easily 20+. If you do 15 on a mountain bike.

    Falco e-motors kickstarter project

I Don't always agree with D8veh but I respect his knowledge and believe him to be honest. Certainly read enought of him helping others. Can understand his liking of Hatti. Her products do appear to be good value too. And I have see snake oil salesmen and fraudsters enough to be warily when...

    Massive momentum ;-)

You should have no problems with the hill climb. On a legal restricted bike I road up the hills in bath when I would struggle to cycle them. Join the electric bike group on strava to see others performance. Ignore me though 100 kg 50+ on an unpowered recumbent.

e bike newbie Cyclamatic or Woosh?

Don't worry about wind or hills Electric bikes trundle along at 14mph up hill and into wind. The gear range is small but you don't need the granny gear. On the other hand I'm 50 and would out run a legal bike on the flat on my bent. The top speed is very limited on electric bikes. They are...

    Upgrade current bike

Also it's technically illegal to yes a bike that powers over 25kph. You are open to trouble but if you are carefull and don't take the **** then there is little chance of being caught.

D8veh will help mutch better on this I only know a little about the illegal stuff. But 250 watts motors can get a bike up to 30+on the flat if you pedal. The speed is limited normally by speed sensors or design speed (turns per volt stuff). The power is a manufacturers rating. Some can will run...

Welcome Kev there are others here who can advise you better on details but running at 150% speed will use circa 2-3 times the power so 9 miles is not silly range at all especially if you have hills traffic lights and weigh a bit too.

Dahon Helios SL electric conversion advice

It's read the ad carefully. It can boost his cruse up to 40kph. That could easily mean I normally cruse at 35kph and with this helping I get 40 but looking at his power rating 500 watts give you 40kph. That motor can manage that output. Remember most other packages have gearing systems that...

Advice on price for montague x50 ezee 48v conversion

Some one who has no idea, more money than understanding. Someone out of touch with the market. Or as D8veh says someone who wants a high speed folding bike to store in there flat as the streets are unsafe.

Advice on price for montague x50 ezee 48v conversion

The bike might be worth £300 but the electrics will have lost a lot of value. Should you not canabalise the parts to make your new bike? You also have to look at what is available new like whoosh etc. as warranted new bikes for under £600, would you spend more on a secondhand home build? It all...

    Falco e-motors kickstarter project

And from your previous post page 2 As for the batteries, all I can say is that the figures are not consistent throughout the Kickstarter page and, well, sorry you're right, the math doesn't add up. There is clearly a typo or someone has not filled in the page correctly. However, if you don't...
