    Another left turn accident

Thanks all . Did not know it was a n offence, stupid - feel like I should know better. Lucky...

    Booster Battery experiment

Well if I hook the Voltmwter up and monitor the voltage whilst riding then the BMS and LVC is, well, me I think :)! I did have 8 cells in 2s2p but 1p died (4 cells at 3.7v 9ah) leaving the other 4 cells but one is bad meaning pack won't charge up properly

    Booster Battery experiment

Sorry, I've been away for a couple of weeks. So, the short answer at first it worked fantastically. But then i killed 1s of the pack. So I removed it and my booster pack became a tiny 3.7v And today I killed that too as one of the cells just would not charge beyond 3.65v even after 12hrs So...

    Could this be an option?

Its not that i see the a money saving opportunity - its just i have marital signoff for £220 already ! which this setup will come in at I want to learn more, i want 44.4v and i see a long term saving in that one chrager bought now can do differnt jobs. And if one pack goes for any reason you...

    Could this be an option?

Thanks D8veh I can envisage a neat looking solution with these. They work out at 140 quid for 4packs instead of 120quid for 6 Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 25C Long Lipo Pack still at 140 plus 50 for charger and allowing another 30 for connectors/watmeter I'm looking at the same £220 quid outlay...

    Could this be an option?

As my main pack has died and I'm more confident these days so I am seriously considering going lipo over replacing my bottle battery at 220. I like modular aspect as well. Can you help me with a shopping list please to help me decide? I think I need 1. 6 x packs above to get 44.4v 10ah 2. Xtr...

    Booster Battery experiment

PM sent - many thanks I did monitor before and after each ride. Had been fine till today - never went above 4.18 or below 3v If a cell fails does it take the ret of the series with it ? I've gone back to eBay seller advised of the cell failure and how I used and charge the batteries. I then...

    Booster Battery experiment

I think I killed the booster pack !:( Wired in a ku65 last night All fine but power dropped off after 15 miles commute (7.5m each way) Now one of the series packs of 4 cells seems dead . 1s reads 3.42 and the other 0. Ad each cell in that S also reads 0 What went wrong ?? Main pack seems...

    Noisey motor query

No I did not amend it - maybe its the wrong sticker on it - def states 17amp though Not got the technology to measure actual current. But even when it is drawing very little such as downhill it is still far noisier

    Noisey motor query

both sensorless (no hall sensor) although KU65 can be used sensored as i undertand it

    Noisey motor query

Motor gone rather noisy (a 250w 8fun /bafang) Last night I swapped my 14a 8fun supplied controller for a 17a BMS KU65 At the same time I upgraded all connections from those cheap and nasty push-to-fit crimps to XTR lipo plugs. I did this on both my main battery (37v 9ah) and booster...

    First Build

Hi there Can I ask why you fitted a breaker ? You ought not to need to protect the motor as the controller should perform the function of limiting amps (I have two - at 14a and a 17a rated)

Advice for a first time buyer - help appreciated

Hi Alex and a warm welcome Lets start at the top then Foldable – FGW policy seems to say that as long as a folding bike fits in the rack then its fine. Some others only allow bikes that fold twice (basically Bromptons). Good news as this really opens up your options. Tick :) Budget –...
